Parking for Reds

What time do you plan to get there? You can park downtown for like $10 (or less) and it's an easy walk. There are some meters downtown that are free after 6. On opening day, I parked on the corner of 3rd & Walnut Street at 5:38. I was able to find a spot (there were several on the street) and I essentially parked for free (I paid approximately $.75 for 24 minutes until 6 p.m.).

If the game is a sell out (i.e. playoff game) then it is worth parking in Covington. For most games, I'd encourage you to get there early, park downtown, stroll over to the Banks for a beer and then head into the game.

That's the biggest thing trying to beat the traffic leaving. Golfing Lassing Pointe 1st time ever then heading to game.

Thanks guys for the info. Best pre game places for a beverage? I know there was a cool big sports bar a couple blocks away but forgot name.

Get there early, park under the Banks, when they're still giving out tickets (i.e. you pay when you leave), then leave after the game and you get free parking right next door to the stadium. I do it almost every time I go. Rarely have to pay for parking.

I always go to JB Finns in Newport and take the ferry over. Most times you can park for free along the flood wall. $5 total for the trip there and back.

You're an NCC guy, so I'm assuming that's how you've always gone to games. I've never understood why people do that (unless it's a big crowd). You're walking farther & paying...but I guess you get to ride on a ferry.

There are a lot of new places right around the stadium that are great for a few pre-game drinks.

If you want to eat, I'd recommend the Yard House or the Lager House. Both have a good variety of beers and good food. They are "sit down" establishments. A yard of a nice, craft beer is $15. You can get a pint for $5, probably. Both places have very good food.

If you're just looking for some bar food, you could go to Holy Grail (literally right across the street from GABP) or Tin Roof (just about 30 steps away from Holy Grail). There is also a Johnny Rockets, Crave (a little pricier, from what I understand) and Toby Keith's (don't go to Toby's).

^You're out of your mind. There's no reason to say "don't go to Toby's".

Maybe he wants to avoid putting money into that clown's pocket? Same reason I won't ever set foot in one of Jimmy Buffet's restaurants or buy his beer?
