Cal tells Wiggins UK will win games by 30 if he comes

Featured Replies

Coach Cal isn’t one to overhype his basketball teams. It seems he’s always saying they’re ranked too high or there are 50 others teams in college basketball that could beat in them. He even found a way to downplay the greatness of the 2011-12 team throughout most of that season. But not next year’s team. He knows how good they’ll be, especially if Andrew Wiggins joins the party.

According to Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford, who spoke to Scout.com about yesterday’s visit, Calipari told Wiggins he’ll expect to win games by 30 points if he commits.

“He said if Andrew decides to come it would take it to an entire different level, and if they don’t win by an average of 30 points, then they didn’t succeed,” Fulford told Evan Daniels.

Be the face of the most talented team ever assembled and win games by 30 points? How can Wiggins turn that down?

Could that have been a big mistake by Cal telling Wiggins that?

Would that make you want to go elsewhere where you would be tested more?

Nope. I'd have committed to Cal yesterday if he had told me that and I was Wiggins.

^He'd be tested on a daily basis in practice more than he could be anywhere else.

Excellent point.

I read somewhere that if Wiggins comes to Kentucky and the three frosh. all come back, Kentucky will have the #2 ranked team in the country coming off the bench....Next year could be scary fun for the BBN.

And highly enjoyable for folks who aren't UK fans but just love the game of basketball.

8 first round draft picks?

Most pressure of any UK team ever to win it all?

Most pressure of any UK team ever to win it all?

Quite possibly. Put me down for YES.

Most pressure of any UK team ever to win it all?

Probably, but half the team could have an off night, and they'd still be able to win most games going away...

If he does commit I kind of have to agree with Cal.

Let this sink in for a second....

PG - Harrison

SG - Harrison

SF - Wiggins

PF - Randle

C - Cauley-Stein

Then after 5 minutes of all-out full court intensity they come back from the media TO and the opposing coach is staring at a fresh group of

PG - Goodwin

SG - Young

SF - Poythress

PF - Lee

C - Johnson

That would have to be defeating...

Don't tease me. I'm already slobbering over myself right now.

Most pressure of any UK team ever to win it all?

Easily.
