Lake Cumberland

I too like the lake down more.

I'm curious to see what they're going to do with our dock now that where it was moved to will be underwater.

Let me know where it is and I'll catch fish on it!

Kidding. I do know of several who did some major ramp repair while the water was down and should make it much better on them when it returns to normal pool.

I do not fish, but do boat. I was not a fan of the lake when it was up. When they dropped it and the economy tanked I actually enjoyed the lake better. fewer boats, less wake, more enjoyable. I'm not a big fan of the guys that need the loud boats to impress others. Making up for lack of other "things".

I surely understand that. The redneck in me has wanted to shoot some jetskiers many times. And I won't be caught dead on that lake during the poker run. I understand your stance entirely. The buckeye navy has nearly been overtaken by hoosiers. Wish someone would impound a lake in their states that was worth a crap.

A really good fisherman friend if mine who has now passed on despised the jet skiers. In his honor I will forever refer to them as "lake lice" which was his pet name for them.

I love that...and it is far more family friendly than what I normally hear them called.

He would shoot them with his finger pistol as they rode by. I don't think it intimidated too may of them but I think he kept a mental tally on his kill ratio. LOL

He might get arrested in today's culture for threatening them with his finger.

He did that too, different finger. :sssh:

I'll be there next weekend, fishing and turkey hunting. Kinda geeked about it.

Hope you eat well. Nothing better than fresh fish and wild turkey.

Folks, I've spent the last 2 weekends at the lake. It's hot as a pistol. We caught 8 smallmouth over 4 lbs. 2 largemouth over 5 and scads of KYs who are conveniently placed in the freezer. We limited out on striper every day also. If you live there and aren't fishing, take a couple of days off, throw soft plastics at every piece of wood on ever point you can find, then throw a pop-R the last hour of the day, and you'll score.

Used to do Cumberland several weekends a year with our boat, renting Houseboats about once per year. Loved it. We'll have to head down there sometime to see how it's changed.

When they first came out, I was paranoid about the Jet Skis, buzzing around the perimeter of your fishing area. I hated them and rued the day they were invented. Then I settled down, became more observant, and came to the realization that they cause very little water displacement, and are basically a non-factor.

For who? Fishermen? I'll disagree.
