Dayton hosting a UK/UC play-in game would be epic.

Lunardi has both teams as an 11-seed right now, with UK playing Virginia in a play-in game.

I think Lunardi is at least one and probably two seed lines off on UC. Will be shocked if there are less than 7-8 on the other side of the bubble popping...

7 or 8 seems high to me, but I haven't studied up on UC's resume.

My post was more wishful thinking anyway.

This Notre Dame/Marquette game is a pretty good one, in spite of the Irish's uniforms.

Atkins shot a 14 foot free throw. He's cracking up and Brey is laughing on the sideline while yelling, "make it". Funny stuff when you are winning.

Dame's uniforms were awful. That wasn't a bad game to watch though. I think

both semi-final games should be pretty good.

3/4 of the teams playing tonight will be in the ACC next year...

Not quite correct...

The Big East voted to turn down a billion dollar ESPN deal that would have stabilized the league with the intention of going to the open market with eyes on becoming the flagship of the NBC Sports Network. Once that happened ESPN started working behind the scenes with the ACC to pick off Syracuse and Pitt in what has eventually led to the league falling apart piece by piece...

Sounds like it's their own fault then. Got greedy and ESPN made them pay....

That was the abridged version. I'm sure it was just a coincidence that the president of Pitt was the driving force behind declining the original TV deal...

Wasn't a simple majority needed to either accept or decline the deal? Wouldn't schools such as UC, UConn, Rutgers, etc have had just as much say as Pitt and others?

Obviously I don't know anything about the "backroom dealings" that went on behind the scenes, but if that is the case, it seems to me the teams that weren't looking to jump to the ACC had the majority and could've pushed the deal through without the vote of those that were ready to jump ship.

No one outside of the higher ups at Pitt and Cuse had any idea they were in talks with the ACC. He'll I'm the one that broke the news to the AD and Butch Jones as the story first leaked and both thought I was kidding. They thought the Pitt president that chaired the TV deal negotiations was all in and at that point there was no reason to believe he already had his eyes on the emergency exit.

If things were black and white we wouldn't be seeing college athletics getting ruined by power and money...

The BIG East blew it by not adding Penn State back in the day. There was an internal struggle between the hoops playing schools and those that played both football and basketball. So to me that is an ill conceived conference. Football is bigger money than basketball and that is where the BIG East blew it.

If Notre Dame doesn't go to the ACC for football too then they will hurt that conference. You can't have different rules for different teams in your conference. It makes no sense.

I hope UC gets to go to the ACC to rejoin their natural rival Louisville. For me it's so long BIG East, you greedy SOB's blew it.
