Madison Central 60 Hopkinsville 56

Final from Rupp. Great game. No shame for Hoptown, classic sweet16 game from start to finish.

Best team in the Commonwealth, that I have seen play! Now can they win one more game?

I feel so bad for Majors from Hoptown. He had a monster game.

They have to be gassed. I think Ballard is deeper, that may be the difference if Ballard gets by MoCo.

Must think however that for the first time in the history of the KHSAA that a team has at least the night to refresh themselves. Heck last year MC would be dead on the floor by half time after their gave vs. Hop and then play later that night!

Come on PP92, we need your recap of the last 50 seconds of this one. BTW, you did a great job on the update thread. :thumb:

Okay. I'll try again.

It was 57-56 MC.

Majors takes the rock for Hoptown with Hawkins defending him. 36.8 left. Majors did all he could but couldn't get a good look on Hawkins. Hawkins rebounds his miss and passes out Parke who dribbled some clock off and then gave it back to Hawkins. Hawkins then was fouled. 10 seconds left. Hawkins makes the first but missed the second and Quan Taylor leaps over both Hoptown defenders and grabs the rebound. Hawkins gets the rock and is fouled. Makes both. 60-56 MC. Ballgame.

This wifi is killing me. In the press room right now.

Hawkins is nails, starts a little slow but when the games on the line, he's money. Kinda of reminds me of Shelvin Mack. Hope Cal gets him.

Hope Cal gets him.

He's good and all... but not UK "give him a scholly good" -- I can see him being offered a preferred walk on, but that is it. He's not a true PG cut in the mold of Cal's likes and he is not tall enough to be a 2.

Heard a lot of the same talk about Mack .He's got a good gig now. Be a good 4-year player IMO. Think he would turn out better than the Ky. kids they have know. No knock on them at all. If he comes in as a walk on bet he earns a scholly.

Hoptown showed they belong today. I was very impressed with their energy level. Jordan Majors is a quality player, I hope he finds a home somewhere to do some college ballin'.
