Rick Pitino: Gorgui Dieng '98 percent' gone' to NBA Draft

Featured Replies

You mean a 6"6' power forward with a propensity for trash talk and limited athleticism for NBA standards is not going to shoot up the draft board?

I actually think he has a ton of athleticism and much less ability to be prolific, being the position he plays. I do like his attitude....of course, I'm pro Louisville....I just see no way he gets drafted.....not a big market for a 6'6" PF that has an ineffective back to the basket game. (I won't complain upon his return).

Another one of Rick's famous lies?

I think Gourgi is 80% gone....and I hate....but respect it.

That being said....with what's coming in....and if he WERE to stay.....man...that could be sweet.

I think we agree here... But again, I think it's more his size than his athleticism.

I guess what I'm saying is that if you're 6'6 you better be Charles Barkley or Larry Johnson, he is neither. Didn't say he was a bad athlete, just not NBA caliber for his size. Could he dunk on any staring center in the league? Could he remotely keep someone like Love off the boards, another guy that's not a great athlete for the NBA? Could he handle LaMarcus Aldridge on the block?

Depends on who else leaves.

Limited athleticism is not a trait of Behanan's. He's not "big" enough to play his position in the NBA, but athleticism is not an issue...

He's slow and plays below the rim combined with his size that's a lot of negatives. I wouldn't consider him athletic by NBA standards.

^ He probably has the most dunks on the team.

Did you see his dunk last week?

He's very athletic when he wants to be.

Can't tell these college fans anything  I remember when some on here told me Austin Rivers was an excellent athlete for an NBA guard. College athleticism is so much different than what it takes to succeed in college. If it weren't Miles Simon, Juan Dixon, and all the bust Duke has put in the league would be Hall of Famers.

I'll stand by what I said earlier, outside of stretch fours like Ryan Anderson, Behanan is a below average to average NBA athlete.

So because he dunks hard he is NBA level athletic? Maybe below the rim was a bit much. He plays at the rim. NBA guys play above the rim.
