Did I misunderstand that....is CCH already practicing?

 

Spring practice started on 3/20 I believe.

Who said he wouldn't be? I didn't see anyone state that Bleser won't be a good passer. Just that he needs an O-line to give him more time to throw than Drew had this year...and Drew could take off and make plays downfield with his legs when it broke down more easily than Josh will.

 

I don't think anyone doubts Bleser's arm strength.

My bad. 25 Years. And CCH destroyed Dixie last year. Had Dixie won, or even kept the game close last year, that would give them more of an advantage, but they didn't. I'm not saying that Dixie will not be better than CCH next season, I'm just wondering how winning 3 out of 4, while getting beat by 34 this past season has to do with this next season.

Go do a little research over the last 8 years my friend, I think you will find a 41-7 in '99 that eclipses your last year total. BTW - the answer to your question is Coach Tom Spritzky. Period.

Does Dixie, Ryle, and other schools have a chance to win a State Title?

Yes, yes, and yes. Some have a better chance then others, but thats not what you asked is it.

From A thru AAAA, what is the top team in NKY this year? Lots of talent in all classes, but who is the best of the best?

3) Dixie

4) CCH

5) Ryle

6) CC

7) SK

8) NCC

9) B-Wood

10) Scott - Newport ???

 

I think 4A teams are on the up swing this year and 1A is going to be a down year . Birds on top until ??????

Boone County and Highlands!

Usually what determines the "number 1" team is preseason play. I think I, of all people, can speak to what it takes to win those non-district games. Recent experience tells us that having a new QB makes it a little tougher to gel early on. Same thing with replacing most of the OL. I really do think that this year the talent in 4A and that in 3A is very comparable, possibly even a slight edge to 4A. I just don't see that standout guy or group of guys at Highlands or CCH. That's not to say that they won't develop during the season, but am I missing the Mitchell, Ellison, etc. type of player? I think having to replace the QB bogs down both of these schools during the "preseason". That, combined with some difficult schedules, will keep these teams from being "number 1". So here is what I have:

 

1. Boone County

2. Highlands

3. Dixie

4. Ryle

5. Covington Catholic

 

Look for Highlands and CovCath to steadily improve throughout the season, and challenge for that #1 spot towards the end of the year.

I would put CCH at 3rd and NCC at 4th,then I would agree. Maybe even put Boone to 4th. 2,3,and 4 all will be very close.

Makes sense. We are traditionally a slow starter, maybe this is the year we change that, but I doubt it. It's not Tom's philosophy to worry too much about non district games. But then again, we don't have too many questions to answer. We know what our guys can do, it's just a matter of fine tuning. As opposed to last year which was a total retooling. If we're ever going to have a strong start, this year should be it. IE.....anywhere in the top five is fine with me. Lower than that and I think it's just wishful thinking.
