As I stated in another thread on this region, NDA would win with ease due to having regions best player. She fires in 28 and does what a top player does, carry her team to victory.

Just glad to see the HHS coach allow her players to play the game this year. Great job Pandas!

Olivia VOSKUHL - Senior - committed (I guess signed now) to Cleveland State for basketball - 2013 Region 9 tourney MVP - 4 year soccer starter at goalie for NDA, winning 1 State Championship and runner-up twice, losing both in shootouts. Team will go as far as she does and she's one of the better athletes to come through NKY in awhile. Did I forget anything? And no, I'm not related.

Olivia is only as good as Ogle imo. Without Ogle, teams could double and triple her and cause her problems, hence sinking ND.

As good as Voskuhl might be at basketball, Ogle was the best "athlete" on the floor tonite and it showed.

ND has serveral special kids that play key roles. Ogle is the best defender around.

I was very impressed with the Grit Highlands Showed tonite. The really took the the fight to ND. They played their hearts out and should be commended for the effort. ND is a better Team and showed it tonite.

Don't know the criteria, or who's in it now. OV Resume: 4 year starter/star/all-everything in 2 sports, team first not me first attitude, ability to carry/lead team, clutch when it counts, good kid/student. Hard to argue with that. Ogle in same position next year with volley/basket ball.

Impressive and special talents imo...

besides olivia voskuhl, the biggest difference i saw in this game was coaching. ND gets more out of their players.

That's absurd. NDA is bigger, stronger, and more athletic than HHS. A talented group of players to be sure, but look at what Coach Richey was able to accomplish with 2 freshmen starting. I'd say she gets more out of her players. It doesn't take much to coach the talent that NDA has.

I thought Highlands coming out and running a motion offense (showing patience) and working the ball inside was a really good strategy. Got the ND bigs in foul trouble......Highlands shot themselves in the foot with missing point blank shots in the first half and really bad free throw shooting the entire game. Huge chance on the technical mid way through the 3rd quarter to really make ND sweat but only hit 2-4 from the free throw line in the sequence. A three point shot then went in and out that if it goes and cut the lead to one you have a whole different ball game.

 

The whole complexion of the game changed on the technical........Highlands had cut the lead to four (I think) and all of a sudden Notre Dame woke up and coupled with some interior non calls that had been fouls all game (actually after the T Notre Dame was not whistled for a foul for about a 5 minute stretch after being called for a ton of fouls all game), Notre Dame pushed the lead to 12 and then Highlands had to press which made for some easy buckets and a more blown out final score.

Oh and by the way Olivia V. is the real deal..............Talk about the "dagger in the heart" three point shots every time Highlands got within a chance to get a lead or tie the game.
