Has Newport lost any players due to suspension in the last two weeks?[/QUO

 

No one has been suspended at all. The only thing that has happen at Newport is that Number 3 Jaquan Short rolled his ankle really bad vs Beechwood and Missed a few games I.E Bracken Co. I did not see the Parker Kid from Newport in Uniform tonigh. He is another 6'5 Kid. Not sure where he was at tonight.

 

I hear that the Parker kid has transferred back to his former school.

A big thumbs up goes out to Cody Pearson. :thumb: After sitting most of the 1st half with the couple of fouls that he got with his assignment of trying to contain Hatton, he plays a huge roll in Newport's comeback in pouring in ALL of his 15 points in the 2nd half... And... just as it has been all season long... again no one seemed to notice. Honestly, what does the kid have to do to be apart of the discussion? :idunno:

 

He was very strong in the second half, and scored easy buckets with defenders who were not as strong as him having to guard him. Strong performance, and just what NpT needed!

They played offensively OK. Milligan posts hard. Niehaus needs to be more aggressive. Settles too often.

 

Neither played good D. Neither slid over to help when Newport beat Dixie on the perimeter. Same for Hedger.

 

Again, their best team and individual ball is ahead of them.

Not great in my opinion. Much like the rest of the team. Everyone was just ok at best, and defense was lacking.

1) That would entail sitting out a year....his senior year.

 

2) I heard from a very very reliable source (aka Brandon himself) who told me he will be a red Colonel next year and is looking forward to what could happen as the team is more experienced.

I am not sure why all the rumors on where Hatton will play next year ... I have heard Holmes, Cov Cath, New Cath, a prep school and now Ludlow.

Even with Hatton, Dixie is #4 at best entering the season. Holmes, CovCath, and NewCath will be on another level.

Maybe, but I have to think that NCC comes back to the pack a little bit with Bueter and Seibert leaving. Those are two good players and experienced leaders leaving.
