CovCath @ LexCath 1/27 predictions

Featured Replies

The Colonels travel to Lexington to meet the mighty Knights. I'll take CCH by 4 on the road. TJ puts up 26 points and Noll has another sweet game.

LexCath 59-52 over the Colonels. The Knights are tough at home, TJ may get his, but the Colonels need a consistent 3rd scorer. Tierney has nights where he gets his, Noll is coming off his best performance as Colonel, but Bovard went scoreless in the biggest game of the year to date -- that is worrisome.

I'll be making the trip and expect a win for the Colonels. They moving on from the loss against Holmes and taking it as a learning experience. They will be ready in Lexington on Friday and will come out with something to prove. Danny Noll did have a nice game against Holmes. I think the key for the Colonels is keeping him and Young on the post as much as possible. Thats what CCH needs a threat on the inside and Danny seems to be the answer right now.

I hear that the starting line up has been changed for CCH but it might not be what everyone is expecting. I think the change will be good for the Colonels as the rotation seems to be a bit unbalanced at the moment. I like the Colonels 66-60. I heard a rumor that the LexCath big guy is not playing this game, any Lexington-area fans know anything about this?

Reid Brown will miss the game as will Cornell Burbage. Both are scheduled for college visits. LexCath will be without their biggest inside guy and their quickest perimeter player. It should still be a good game and I think the Knights can still win if they take care of the ball.

As of when was the lineup changed. If it was decided today does it have to do with Cahill or/and Noll in for Schult or/and Young. Or does it have to do with a guard spot. Bo would be a great spark off the bench, IMO. He deserves to start but if he was willing to accept the role of the 6th man I think that would make CCH better.

I've never heard of players scheduling a college visit the night of a game. Why? There are many other days they could choose.

The visits are for football I believe. I don't know about the scheduling details.

No guards (as far as I'm aware of) are being switched. It is something with the 4 big guys. No matter who starts I think that every one of the 4 big guys should play over 12 minutes or so per game. They are so close that they can rotate without really losing in talent. It seems like lately Young and Schult haven't been in as much, while earlier in the year it was Cahill and Noll.

Its all about defensive matchups. My understanding is that LC has a big strong kid in the middle so look for Schult to be on the floor a lot. Cahill would get pushed around.

I do expect to see Cahill in more minutes for the rest of the season. He brings a lot of small things that are needed.

Without these two playing it sounds like CCH will be facing a similar LexCath team that HC played and beat earlier this year. I expect the same reults with CCH winning by between 8-10.

LexCath rotates about 12 guys normally so missing the above two shouldn't hurt the overall flow that much. Not having the main goto guy available in a close game will be the main problem plus Burbage gets a lot of runout baskets. LexCath is taking better care of the ball than earlier in the season but still needs work in this area. Looking on the positive, this gives Catholic another chance to win without acouple of their main players.

The Knights best two big men are Reid Brown and Nathan Novosel. With Reid gone, Novosel will have to be even bigger tonight. Brown is most likely the big strong kid your referring to. Still Novosel is only a sophmore and looking pretty tough down low.

CovCath wins the JV matchup against LexCath 56 - 48

CovCath JV haven't lost since the HHS game

From what the CovCath announcers say their is surprisingly no LexCath crowd as of 7:10pm in Lexington.
