truthbtold Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Let me start by saying I am a UK fan. I am a little concerned about the getting some of the recruits that are coming our way. I had a conversation with a friend of mine that is also a UK fan that made the comment that made me think. He said, "UK football will be on probation in a couple of years, there is no way Stoops is bringing some of these guys in legally". I would like to know your thoughts about this.
UKMustangFan Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 With all due respect, your friend is an idiot.
truthbtold Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 With all due respect, your friend is an idiot. He's an idiot because he has an opinion?
UKMustangFan Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 He's an idiot because he has an opinion? No, because he thinks the only way a program like Kentucky can have even a glimmer of success is through cheating.
truthbtold Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 No, because he thinks the only way a program like Kentucky can have even a glimmer of success is through cheating. We are talking about Kentucky football right?
gametime Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 No, because he thinks the only way a program like Kentucky can have even a glimmer of success is through cheating. They haven't had much success even when they have cheated...
UKMustangFan Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 We are talking about Kentucky football right? Yes. This is the college football forum after all.
UKMustangFan Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 They haven't had much success even when they have cheated... Right, but that was guys like Mumme. Stoops has a bigger pedigree and name than any other Kentucky coach of the last 30 years. It's not that far-fetched to see him go after the guys that places like LSU, Florida, etc., would be bringing in as grey-shirts or backups, and being able to grab a handful. They still get to play in the SEC, and they get more immediate playing time.
truthbtold Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Yes. This is the college football forum after all. I'm wondering why you are upset about suspensions someone may have about top recruits leaving the south to play for KY.
mcpapa Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 On a related note, look at what Old Miss has already done this morning on National Signing Day.
Bluto Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Right, but that was guys like Mumme. This.

Not to mention, those are football schools.
UKMustangFan Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I'm wondering why you are upset about suspensions someone may have about top recruits leaving the south to play for KY. Because it's ridiculous to think they're cheating because they're getting guys that would be reserves at most of the elite level schools. These guys are going to UK because they'll still get to play against the best competition in the country, and they'll get more playing time.
UKMustangFan Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 But, they don't have a snowball chance in he** to win a championship. That's the difference. Not to mention, those are football schools. To a lot of these kids, getting to the league, and/or getting "theirs" is more important than winning championships. They see immediate PT as the best way to showcase what they can do.
