Holy Cross / Dixie - CANCELLED - 2/2

Featured Replies

Dixie has cancelled tonight's game with Holy Cross. HC was ready to play. Kenton Co policy around weather related events and activities. If any event or activity is cancelled then ALL must be cancelled.

Too bad. Roads are fine.

Jeez... here we go again. I wish Kenton County could implement a "northern/southern" policy for these kinds of things.

Doubt this one gets made up, but I'm hoping both coaches comes together and get it done.

Didn't NC cancel an upcoming game due to the 30-game limit?

I'll be surprised if it gets rescheduled.

Could have.

I know Holmes is still supposed to make up the game with Brossart from November/December. Code wanted to wait and see how deep of an All A run they made befoe finalizing a date.

I know Goetz will want to attempt to make it up if they can fit it in.

Good to know.

Blanket policies might sound good in a board room, but are often totally irrational and impractical when it comes to applying it to each individual situation.

Kenton County Schools are getting a bad rep as a result. This is the third instance that I am aware of that their teams did not meet their commitments because of a "school policy."

Two years in a row this game has been cancelled. Last year it was Holy Cross and this year Dixie. Hope they make this one up.

Doesn't Campbell and/or Boone have the same policy? I thought I saw yesterday morning where one of the two also cancelled all school activities for the day.

Not exactly true... Boone Co. played games on Friday, after not having school...see Cooper v. Simon Kenton thread. Boone Co. schools did cancel all activities, including fundraisers, on Saturday due to the "threat of additional inclement weather".

Not uncommon... Dixie has played a number of evening games (over the years) when school has been cancelled. But when the county gives the blanket "no activities" like Sat, the schools don't have a choice. I think we're on the same page.
