For a school that does not have a pep band I've always enjoyed Dixie's pre-game music the most. Nice mix.

However, I'm 100% behind the pep bands. Adds a lot to the atmosphere (or in Conner's case it sadly MAKES the atmosphere).

The pep band subject comes up often at our school. The band plays minimal times during the season and when they do play, they don't play for very long. I believe the band should play the whole pre-game and all of half time. What do your bands do? (if I just hijacked, I can start a thread)

Allsport, I've got an instrumental playlist on my laptop that the team has said they really like. .

How would players have heard your playlist?

The games where I've seen bands have them there at least through halftime. SK's stayed through overtime.

Ours is there for the whole game but play only 1 or 2 songs between the JV and V games, then the anthem, and play the school song going into the half. They play during time outs and get the 3rd Q off. There's not a lot of music coming from them.

The same beats I've used for the videos are what my playlist consists of.

What exactly are they doing at Holmes? I know all they currently have are the two speakers on the football field side.

I can assure you there will be more than 2 speakers!

The two hanging there now are definetly old and look the part. No bass whatsoever coming from those.

Good to hear they are getting turf. That should atleast spark some interest for more kids to come out.

The locker room that they re did Booher's first year is really nice. Wood lockers with somewhere to sit. Much different than the red metal ones and benches they used to have.

The pa system upgrade will make that a first class place to watch a game. (Not that it isn't already)

Not positive they will get turf. That is a lot of $$ to raise or find. Can't use building funds if there are other needs, especially, classrooms, safety. etc. They almost always take priority over athletic facilties. In Covington with the age of their buildings they have lots of these needs. They were able to phase in things at the gym and not take the hit all at one time. Can't do that with turf.

Very true. Didn't they also re do the concession area? I seem to remember them doing construction in there when I did my preview for Holmes.

I see a donation of 25-30K from LB13 to assist with NCC's PA. I am certain they will be appreciative!

Actually this issue is being addressed.

I can speak pretty cofident about the PA system at Holmes, being i i am the PA guy for the boys games, we have fought all year will problems, we have had the system go down during announcements, during intro's and we have had problems getting music to play, i am always thriled when the band is there, the first night, we could not get the Anthem going, most of the speakers are the original ones from the 70"s, but yes by district time, we should have everything in place, all i can do is apoligize for some glitches this year, hang in there with us.

Coincidentally, on the night of the no Anthem, I had brought of buddy of mine from England to his very first ever high school basketball game, and his first chance ever to hear in person an anthem other than "God Save The Queen". The crowd stood and I was excited for him to experience this... then... nothing... We both agreed that with the crowd on hand, we all could've carried it off and sang it acapella as a group. Really not sure why it didn't go off that way? Oh well...:idunno: I got him to numerous other games while he was in town, so ultimately he got to experience it, even a crowd acapella one at NewCath.

B-Ball-Fan, on that night, the cd player had been working during pre-game, then when we put the cd in, nothing, wish you had ran down and sang, we all kind of look at each other, we had decided none of us could sing it, it was a sic feeling, feel free anytime to come on down, ha. We now use an i pad and i even got a new phone at Christmas and have it down loaded in case it is needed. Stop by and say hi sometime.

So no one sang the Anthem just because a CD didn't work?

At NCC a young lady was half way through singing when she suddenly stopped. Not sure why. Didn't matter. PA guy started singing from where she left off and the entire crowd sang. When CCH then came to NC a week later the entire crowd sang it a capella. Pretty cool.

Wish i could sing, at the Pikeville tournement, someone forgot the words in the middle, but i give them credit for giving it shot. As i said no one felt worse than i did and we have made sure it wont happen again. It was the first home game of the season and we even tested it a few times.

I'm not placing any blame at your feet. Surprised the crowd didn't just start singing.
