Well, many were right in saying Bolden would get his. Seemingly incorrect that Hatton would get his. How did Holmes shut him down??

Impressed with Stat line of the Sophs in the game... Bolden we know about, but Schreck will be a player, too. Hedger a nice little line as well.

Does Holmes finish undefeated to districts?

They played him tough and denied him the ball and then doubled him. He wasn't hitting, though. He had some good looks and for the most part they didn't fall. They used Coston until he got a couple of quick fouls then Housley, Herndon and Englemon.

Holmes, in my opinion, was far from their best tonight, but still had plenty to handle Dixie. Bright spot for Dixie is Schreck, I like that young man and have every time I've seen them. I know many of his sophomore classmates get more love, but I really like his future.

Hatton's body language wasn't great tonight. I'm a huge fan, and perhaps he is a victim of his own success, but I expected a lot more from him tonight.

Holmes is the best team in the 9th (and the 10th), and I'm not sure there is even an argument. They have plenty of options, led by a bonafide D1 point in Bolden.

Holmes won this game defensively in the 2nd quarter when they upped the pressure all over the floor. The Colonels turned the ball over and didn't rebound well in that stretch. Other than that quarter, they played pretty well. Holmes didn't shoot well from the outside, except Coston got on a little streak, but wasn't consistent. Palmer did not shoot well at all. Bolden was not penetrating because of the defensive players laying back and not letting him. He shot ok from the outside, but missed his share also. The Bulldogs made 18-19 FT's which is outstanding. It is apparent they are getting teams best effort. Dixie played hard and didn't let it become a blowout.

I agree, Holmes can play better. Their defense was the difference tonight. They can beat you a lot of ways.

Agreed. I think he is the best sophomore currently. 3rd leading scorer according to article I read on nkysports Obviously Rabe has some talent, and Hedger will be a nice forward in the 9th as the years pass. I think the kid to look out for is Bolin, a 6'7 center who has come along nicely on JV and I think will be a factor in the near future.

Difference, again, was 2nd quarter. Holmes really turned it onat both ends. I'll have highlights up by the morning.

You meant best soph on Dixie right? Because he's not as good as Bolden and it isn't close.

He was referencing my comment that Schreck is Dixie's best soph. I think we are all on the same page regarding Bolden.

Housley was impressive tonight. His shot to end the 3rd was pretty nice as well.

12 points in only 17 mins...yea he played pretty well. He has gotten better throughout the season. Coach Booher noticed him playing well at the JV level so threw him in against Scott and he has been a regular in the rotation since. Had a 3 to end the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
