As I said, I am not positive when they practiced wether they practiced Sunday or Monday, all I know is one of their players was with us monday afternoon. Now a monday morning practice could of happened. I don't know for sure and I didn't ask her if they had practice or not. I just saying what I know as a fact, and that is one of their players was with us Monday afternoon

you have multiple Boone Co people telling you they have the same policy. If they broke the rules and practiced (which it sounds like they didn't), then shame on them. But it's still not Kenton's BOE's fault that SK lost!

 

And your example above...I wonder if there can be exceptions made for championship play. For instance, practice the day before the biggest game in school history and for a state title. Your example isn't really apples to apples. Prepare for a first ever state championship appearance vs. playing a regular season non-district/region game? There are exceptions to every rule if it makes sense. ...and don't forget, Boone was in exactly the same position as SK in this situation. You make a lot of assumptions in your posts. You have no idea if Boone practiced or not. But most of the notes on here lead us to believe they didn't. So many excuses!!!

This makes sense especially knowing other schools do the same on Thanksgiving if they are playing in the state finals.

With the technology and access to the internet, I find it hard to believe any really good team would not spend most of their time in the classroom anyhow watching film.

 

And in the case of the team that was not allowed to practice on a Holiday, wellllllllll, just well...

Well things have changed since I was growing up. Back in the olden days once your sport season was over you were done with it until next season. the only sport that started early was football with 2 a days in the summer. These days whatever sport you play it's a year round thing. Once football is over they are back in the weight room 2 weeks later. Baseball same thing after your summer ball is over and if you play HS baseball you better be playing summer ball also.

 

so seeing how much things have changed I understand the rules they need to put into place just to give these kids a break every now and then. It's gotten to be a full time job for these kids these days especially when you play multiple sports.
