This may become the norm for Hatton because the word is that the Dixie coaching staff has decided that it's no longer going to be the Brandon show. Also herd from reliable source that the coaches dont want Hatton taking so many shots. Hatton is averaging 25.3 points a game on 15.5 shot attempts based off stats posted on nky.com. He is averaging 1.536 points per attempt. Dont exactly think I would want him to stop shooting so much if I was the coach.

You have to let the big dog eat IMO especially when the rest of the team is so young and inexperienced and offensively challenged.

Sounds like Chevy May be caving to some parents.

 

Since they have a nice sophomore class and figure pretty much the same thing will go on next year, I can see some mommys and Daddys of those 10th graders having concerns. What they fail to realize is you take shots away from the best scorer in NKY and most of the state, wellyou better be making them up efficiently somewhere else.

 

On the other hand, if Chevy sees some dissension in the locker room where kids may not be giving their all then he could be in trouble.

Hard to believe they wouldn't run their offense through Hatton. That just doesn't make sense. He can absolutely carry this team and does at times. I also

can't believe a coach with Chevy's experience letting the parents determine what he does. They are a decent team and you can't throw a season away. The 9th region is not a sure thing for any team. Even though one of the top four will probably win it, Dixie will be in the regional tourney and with a good draw they could be right there at the end. Just sounds like they and Hatton had a bad game. It happens. Who thought they'd beat SC anyway?

They need to let him eat, only chance they really have against better teams.

I watched this game on I-High....it was REALLY ugly if you're a Dixie fan. Scott Co is a very good team but the turnovers and poor defense were hard to watch. Toss in poor shooting and forced shots and you have a recipe for a big loss. Hatton getting a few more shots wouldn't have changed anything.

Somehow Chevy has to light a fire under some of these other kids. When's the last time a team won the ninth region with 1 player averaging double figures? I don't recall ever. If some other players don't start getting involved, it's going to be the same story next year imo. It takes a TEAM to win the region.

I'm a parent from Dixie and to my knowledge there are no parents complaining. And I don't think the coach has a problem with him shooting the majority of shots. I think the problem comes when there is no offense run. You can't come down the floor, make one pass to BH and have him put his head down and go one-on-five multiple times in a row. When there is a flow, with ball movement they look good. I personally would love to see BH average 30 points a game.

 

So, unless anyone has any proof that parents have been comp[laining to the coach and that he is listening to them, then please do not start rumors. Thanks.

IMO need to address their guard issue. Montgomery County's pressure really gave them a hard time.
