Can't do it. When on the interstate all I do is pass everybody. Everybody. I hate getting in the right lane, then the left lane, then the right lane, then the left lane because I am passing each and everyone of you slow pokes on the road. Just the way it is. Move.........get out the way....get out way.......Moooovvveeee....

 

It's rare I'm not passing someone. But I do use my mirrors and if someone is coming up behind me I'll hurry up and get over.

I do get over but I will stay in the lane even when not passing if nobody is behind me. I'm like PP92, I don't like to continually shift back and forth unless someone behind me wants to go faster.

I utter that when we approach a red light & I'm in the left lane behind a handful of vehicles. If there isn't anyone in the right lane, I'll quickly slide over there & say, "I'll get them on the start." For you Northern Kentuckians, this happens most often in Wilder when we're on the AA & getting ready to exit onto 275. Right there at the movie theater, I'll make my move. Usually move up 4 or 5 spots on the restart. :lol:

What about highways with 4 lanes each way? Are you saying everyone should drive in the right most lane, unless passing, or just stay out of the left most lane unless passing?

I've done it so often that when I look behind me to make sure no one is in the right lane, she'll just go ahead & say, "You'll get them on the start, won't you?" :lol:

If you are in the left lane, there's no one you are passing, get the hell out of it. Move over to the right lane. I don't care if you're going 90. If someone is approaching you from behind (of course that would require using mirrors), get out of the passing lane. Just straight up buckeye dumb to stay in that lane in my opinion.

My quirk relates to the Stevie Wonders of the highways who are unclear on the concepts of merging and/or reading.

 

To get to downtown Maysville from the top of the hill/McDonalds, you travel "down the hill". For the first half-mile or so, there are two lanes. However, the right lane and its immediate vicinity are festooned with giant arrows pointing left, signs saying (in no uncertain terms) "LANE ENDS" and "MERGE LEFT", etc. However, it seems as if I ALWAYS get the bozo in the right lane pulling alongside me that doesn't get it; that refuses to slow down and merge or even speed up and merge. Instead, it morphs into a potentially deadly game of chicken.

 

If you see signs saying "lane ends" and "merge left", please do your best to read them, assimilate the data and act accordingly.

 

 

I hear you brother. As you are heading from I 471 into Ft Thomas on Memorial Parkway, the left lane is forced to turn off up a hill into Bellevue, with right lane continuing on into Ft. Thomas. Always seems to be some jack wagon that doesn't want to get in line in the right lane, but tries to pass everyone in the left lane, cutting into the right lane at the last second and nearly causing either a sideswipe or a head on collision with cars coming the other way. As if they are so important and their time so much more valuable than mine that they can't get into the right lane behind the other cars.

 

Just rude and inconsiderate. No justification for it other than an emergency. And people wonder why Road Rage incidents increase. It's a result of people thinking they are more important than other people lawfully using the roads.
