January 9, 201313 yr Author So far I haver made it to Ft Myers Beach, Sanibel and Captiva and down to Naples. I have been to Nervous Nellies on Ft Myers Beach and to the Bubble Room and The Mucky Duck on Captiva. The Mucky Duck is a great place to eat, have a drink, listen to music and watch the sunset. I have also had the good fortune to have ice cream at the Love Boat. Tremendous. This trip is going by much too fast. I could get use to SW Florida living very easily.

January 12, 201313 yr My wife's grandfather lives there now; we will be going down in the spring or early summer.
January 12, 201313 yr Love Fort Myers, there use to be a club there called The Warehouse. Cool place. Met Danny Jo Brown and the guys from Nazareth there back in the 80's.
January 12, 201313 yr I don't know what it's like down in Ft. Myers, but it's gorgeous here. Humidity is down for some reason. Makes it a nice 81. Too bad I have to work. :irked:
January 12, 201313 yr Come back in July/August and then decide. Isn't that the truth. I tell my Florida friends all the time, you are just picking which season to stay inside. We do it in the winter, you do it in the summer.
January 13, 201313 yr Author Well my trip comes to an end tomorrow. I fly back at noon..Not too excited about coming back home. A person could get real used to 80 degree weather in January. It has been a really great 10 days in SW Florida.

We have been down a few times in January and February; coming back home from the nice weather there is kind of like a hangover at this time of the year.
January 13, 201313 yr The little bar on the beach at Ft. Myers is where I found out rum runners are really, really good and that they can have devastating effects on one's decision making ability. Especially when it came to women and whether this one particular woman was "hot" or not...that ONE night she was at least through my rum runner blurred eyes.

The old saying "Go home with a 10 at 2 and wake up next to a 2 at 10" seems to fit nicely here.
