Brossart was down by 10 at the start of 4th qtr. Uebel and Jennings played well. Saunders had 27 points. Good win for the team.

Just like I called it. Nice win for the Stangs.

Congrats to the Mustangs who rallied from a 41-33 deficit late in the game to beat Oldham County 58-52 in the Lexington Republic Bank Basketball Classic in OT. Justin Saunders gets 28 including a perfect 14 of 14 from the line. Nice game also for Jake Jennings off the bench with 7 points, a steal, a big two free throws and in taking two charges for the perfect 9-0 Mustangs.

Damn, I was really hoping to get down there early and see this game today. BB is good and fun to watch.

Will BB be staying in Lexington for the tourney?

Went home following today's game since we don't play again until 6pm on Thursday. Will arrive tomorrow at 3pm and stay in Lexington for the duration.

Officially Saunders had 27 on 13 of 14 shooting from the charity stripe. Not shabby!!!

The LexHerald Leader Box Score is accurate.

Justin Saunders has been nagged by back problems this season, but the Bishop Brossart senior looked hale and hearty in the opening game of the Republic Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic on Wednesday.

Saunders had 27 points, six rebounds and four steals as the undefeated Mustangs rallied to beat Oldham County 58-52 in overtime.

"Justin's still not 100 percent, but he was pretty tough out there today," Brossart Coach Mike Code said.

Oldham County, the defending 8th Region champ, led Bishop Brossart 43-33 before the Mustangs mounted their comeback.

Saunders, who made 13 of 14 free throws, hit two with :04 left in regulation to tie it 47-47. He had six points in the extra period, and Jake Jennings had five points and a clinching steal in OT as the Mustangs improved to 9-0.

Bishop Brossart, a 10th Region contender, has a roster stacked with underclassmen who got lots of playing time last season.

"Even though we're young, we're still fairly experienced," Code said.

Is he surprised his Mustangs are unbeaten?

"We thought we could be in a spot like this if everybody stepped up," he said.

Jennings, a 5-foot-9 junior guard, finished with seven points. Alex Trentman, a 6-6 junior, had four points and nine rebounds.

Oldham County was led by Sam Gruber's 22 points, including 5-for-7 three-point shooting. Garrett Masters had 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Colobels' 23 turnovers, including a couple in overtime, were costly.
