Who do you vote for between Manning and Peterson? I honestly cannot decide.

I have a hard time giving someone "Comeback Player of the Year" when he played in 12 games last year, had just under 1,000 yards and 12 TD's. His story is great, but I think Manning's story makes him the true comeback player of the year.

AP is my MVP though.

This is an easy one IMO.

AP is going to set the single season rushing record after having major reconstructive knee surgery less than twelve months ago.

And Manning is coming off his 4th neck surgery and many never thought he would play again.

The advancements in knee reconstruction have come along way to where one can play the following season. But not to AP's level. Dude is a physical freak.

He's not having a historic season, AP is. Easy choice.

I am not sure what the criteria is for Comeback Player of the Year. I agree if you stack there seasons side-by-side Peterson is easily having the better season. Especially when you consider he is all they have. It is also hard to judge which is more difficult to come back from, that is always what I have kind of judged it by.

He played 3/4 of the season last year though. To me that is what makes Manning the better choice because he didn't play at all last year and having a solid season.

I feel like AP will win MVP and Manning will win Comeback Player of the Year and that is how I would vote.

To me the criteria for CPOY is having a devastating injury and coming back with a great season. IMO, it's a no-brainer that AP is having the better season and thus should be CPOY. While one injury may have sidelined Manning for the entire season, they were both devastating injuries. It's even more remarkable what AP is doing if you consider Manning basically had 2 full years to recoup while AP had about 6-7 months.

And you make a great arguement. I still think my vote would go to Manning.

Not that it matters in this discussion, but did AP surgery include using a cadaver like Palmer's?

Manning. AP played last year. Now if you want to give AP the MVP I am ok with that.

Personally I think both players will win the award, in 2005 Steve Smith and Tedy Bruschi shared the award. IMO the fact that AP played last year makes it even more impressive that he is doing what he is doing. If he had a whole year to sit out and recover like Peyton than it would not be as impressive, it would actually make him human. I do think what Peyton is doing is quite impressive, as a college football player i've had neck injuries and they are scary!

As a running back to tear your ACL and come back within months even better than before is unheard of. Far too often an ACL tear is a career ending injury for the position, or will slow down a players career greatly. We can all think of multiple running backs that were never the same after a knee injury.

One could easily argue for Peyton and justify it, i personally thought he would come back and play well, not as great as he is doing though. I did not think AP would come back and dominate the way he is. IMO

Again i think both will share the award, rightfully so.

This logic is awesome. I vote for Peyton also. I was torn until I read this.

Manning's career was in question at one point and the franchise he rejuvenated and rebuilt gave up on him. The no-brainer is that it is Peyton. AP played last season. Hell, he was hurt in December and even Welker has proven you can return from ACL surgery in 6-7 months.

In the immortal words of LL Cool J, "Don't call it a comeback. I've been here for years." I don't feel like All Day is coming back. He is just exceeding expectations with his performance knowing that he had the surgery. Peyton is doing the same after missing an entire year. That feels more like a comeback, IMO.

All Day for MVP, though- especially if he breaks Eric Dickerson's record.

That's my line of thinking as well but it's a tough decision.
