Running clock in 2nd half.

 

Witte has 9 pts and 6 assists in Ist half and finished with 11 pts. Turner had a nice game Leading the Birds with 14. Houliston has 9pts in the first half and finished with 11. Nick True dominated the boards I think he had double figures as well. Alot of kids got minutes and add in the running clock and ir was a quick 2nd half.

 

Joe Hornback LED the Tigers with 13 points.

I assume this is a district game, correct?

Former Bluebird Jim Hicks is Head Coach at Bellevue and its a nice game to get the football players some confidence.

 

Birds are much faster and get after you. Better team than last season by far IMO.

If it's not a district game I don't see why HHS plays Bellevue. Nothing gained.

Its December and 7 of them have had 3 practices, I will take a game like that the night after an Overtime win to get more reps and gain confidence.

 

Dixie is up next in Crestview Hills.

Looking at the balance of the Bellevue schedule (no other big schools) this game is all about the relationship between Bellevue Coach Jim Hicks and his alma mater. Last year Bellevue competed with the Birds in the district battle, only losing by 14. This years Tigers are very, very small. No starters over 6'.

 

I gained a bit of respect for the Bellevue squad for their effort in the 3rd quarter. Down 29 at half, they battled the HHS starters the entire quarter without getting down the 35 needed for the running clock. That began early in the 4th quarter.

Like Q & Stinkyboy said, Hicks is a Highlands grad. I see nothing wrong with extending the opportunity for a former "cake-eater" to bring his team into the "birds nest" to play.

Trust me Clyde, the Birds have their share of tough games coming up.

 

Woodford County Tournament they will face Jeffersontown, possibly Scott County, Henry Clay, GRC, Woodford County or PL Dunbar.

 

The following week they are in Pikeville and will face Betsy Lane, possibly Harlan County, or Breathitt Co all strong Mountain teams.
