December 3, 201213 yr Jim Bowden said the Reds would trade Bailey for Fowler' date=' but the Rockies aren't likely to do it, due to Homer's shoulder history.[/quote'] Bowden is an idiot.
December 3, 201213 yr Author You lost that title when you suggested the Reds trade him in the off season. Incorrect. You always explore options to make your team better. I am still the Prez.
December 3, 201213 yr Bowden is an idiot. Couple other guys have said the same...The Rockies asking price for Fowler is a lot higher than Homer Bailey.
December 3, 201213 yr Couple other guys have said the same...The Rockies asking price for Fowler is a lot higher than Homer Bailey. Assuming GMs have access to his split page on ESPN or baseball reference I don't see anyway they get a bigger haul than that for Fowler.
December 3, 201213 yr Incorrect. You always explore options to make your team better. I am still the Prez. I fully believe Bailey has it figured out. His stock is on the rise, and if you can get a huge haul for Bailey, then yeah you look at making a deal, but Dexter Fowler sure isn't the right price or the answer. Pitching is scarce, and you sure don't trade a potential #2 or even a #1 for Dexter Fowler. If Walt makes that deal he's dead to me.

December 3, 201213 yr I have said for a long time, if Bailey figures it out mentally he will be good. It looks like he has. If they wouldn't have rushed him up a few years ago we may not have ever seen a mental midget Homer.

December 3, 201213 yr I disagree. A few years of humble pie in the bigs seems to have helped. I think it was simply maturity.
December 3, 201213 yr How about Heisey, Cairo, Leake and Wickets for Fowler! We'll throw in Dave Lapham!
December 5, 201213 yr I just find it funny that very one wants to keep bailey now but a season ago everyone hated him. That is how it has worked with almost every single Reds play except Votto over the last three years lol. As soon as someone struggles its they need to be traded, they just aren't any good, they are ready for the big leagues and need to be sent down to the minors, etc. So it really was nothing different than normal for when it comes to Reds players. I know I was someone who wasn't the biggest Homer fan and was not sure if he could ever turn it around. However he has also won me over, and I wouldn't make this trade either.
December 6, 201213 yr Apparently the Rockies asked the Braves for Mike Minor AND Julio Teheran or Randall Delgado.

December 7, 201213 yr Ken Rosenthal: Leake or Stubbs How a Fowler trade could work - Yardbarker I would do that deal in a heartbeat.
