November 26, 201213 yr @Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: #Reds in serious talks with Broxton. Expected to be multi-year deal Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Sources: Broxton deal with #Reds expected to be for three years.
November 26, 201213 yr Author My Guess.... 3 years $18 Mil Safe to say Chapman will be going to the rotation.
November 26, 201213 yr Author John Fay @johnfayman Broxton deal probably won't be announced today. #Reds wait till the ink is dry. Think he was surer bet than Madson, Soria.
November 26, 201213 yr My Guess.... 3 years $18 Mil Safe to say Chapman will be going to the rotation. Would you rather Chapman in the pen or in rotation? I'd say pen. I've heard Reds fans on both sides.
November 26, 201213 yr ^ Rotation' date=' closers are overrated.[/quote'] They are far from overrated.
November 26, 201213 yr They are far from overrated.Disagree. If you don't have Top 2 or 3 they're very disposable.
November 27, 201213 yr Most overrated position, easily! Is this coming from your "Heath Bell" experience?
November 27, 201213 yr Is this coming from your "Heath Bell" experience? Said it LLLLOOOONNNNGGGG before Heath Bell.
November 27, 201213 yr Disagree. If you don't have Top 2 or 3 they're very disposable. And Chapman falls into the top 2 or 3 IMO.
November 27, 201213 yr Closers shorten games--far from overrated.. I just don't see Chapman working out as a sp with two effective pitches, and minimal control. I hope they keep him in the pen.
November 27, 201213 yr And Chapman falls into the top 2 or 3 IMO. Didn't say he wasn't. As a whole, overrated.
November 27, 201213 yr I think they are feeling like Broxton could close and if he struggles they could go with Hoover, who looked good last year. This would give them 2 options while they try Chapman in the rotation. I prefer Chapman as the closer, but i understand trying him as a starter. If he harnesses his control, he could be a stud! Could you imagine, Chapman, Cueto, and Latos as your top 3 starters. Everyone needs to remember Arroyo is done after this year for the Reds. They will not be able to pay him over $12 million as a 4th or 5th starter.
