HB, what is frustrating other posters is that you are just posting factually inaccurate stuff and then acting all innocent when people call you out. Earlier you said that private and independent schools' funding comes from their own sources, not tax dollars - your words, not mine. That is true for private schools but NOT for independent schools. Whether you like it or not, independent schools are public schools - funded by tax payers. This is just a fact - and it seems to have eluded you. If you think independent public schools should be treated like privates, that is your opinion... one I have not heard that often, but your opinion.

They are all publicly funded - thus public schools. Based on the link you provided, I can see why you thought they are like private schools. The schools in Kentucky are not like the independent schools in the link at all.

Thank you. I literally didn't know the difference and why I "assumed" they were closer to private than public. I now know. The site I went to to clarify mislead me.

I now understand also why Beechwod for instance is independent, mainly due to being the only school in the city or in the immediate vicinity unlike the Boone co schools where there are 4 schools literally located in a very close proximity to eachother.

Here is a legitimate question for HHS fans in here, I truly do not know the answer so I am just going to ask. Does every Football player on the team live inside the Ft Thomas city boundaries? I'm just curious. Don't read into the question too much, I know how sensitive some HHS fans can be, just a simple question. If so, I want to have the water pumped into my house because they turn out some stud athletes. And that isn't a knock, I'm truly giving them kudos if the city puts out that many great athletes.

What helps HHS more than the few kids that don't live in Ft.Thomas is the FTJFL. You have 4 or 5 teams in each divison and this creates the depth that the Birds have. You have 4 or 5 kids playing qb. You have 8 to 10 running backs etc..

You are right. You can't help me because you do not know what you are talking about. Independent schools are public schools. They are funded by property taxes. People in Ft.Thomas, Ft. Mitchell, Bellevue, Dayton, Ludlow, Covington, etc. pay property taxes that are used to fund the schools. People in Boone and Kenton County pay property taxes that are used to fund the public schools in Kenton and Boone County. People in Ft. Mitchell do not pay a school tax to Kenton County. The school tax they pay goes to Beechwood Independent. Also, they all receive money from the state of KY.

 

Private schools are not funded by tax payer dollars. Independent and Private schools are not the same.

 

The answer to your question is BG, Highlands, Cooper, Mayfield, Caldwell County, Belfry, PRP, Collins, Fairview, and Central are all public schools in the finals. NCC and Trinity are Private schools in the finals. Of those Belfry, BG, Highlands, Mayfield and (Fairview, I think) are Independent Public schools. The others are County Public Schools. The finals have 10 public schools and 2 private schools.

It is probably irrlevant at this point, but in the interest of accuracy I just need to point out one thing. Belfry is not an independent school. Belfry is not even an incorporated town, just a small community that is part of Pike County.

 

And so Belfry High School is a part of the Pike County School System and just one of five high schools in that school system. (along with Phelps, Pike Co Central, East Ridge and Shelby Valley). So Belfry is a small county public school in every sense of the words, and not independent nor private.

Using my county Math that is around 95%. I guess our water is truly blessed!

Yea, the pee wee program there is awesome and makes a great feeder program.
