Final score.

Final.

Wow....shocker on the invincible, almighty, log mountain. Central's starting QB never played a snap and Bell couldn't run over the Central defense. This was actually closer than I thought it would be.

So that good ole boy "smash mouth" football didn't win out against a speedy finesse team. Never seems to anyway.

I really thought Bell would win this game at home. They had been the more impressive team leading up to the game and led a big portion of this one, but, fell a little short. Sounds like 2 pretty evenly matched teams to me. Tough loss for Bell and great win for Central.

Speed kills

City boys take over the mountain

Noteworthy that Central played without their starting QB in this one too.

Stats I saw:

RUSHING — LC (30-154): Deris Cox 23-150, Darren Powell 2-8, Sydney Tedford 5-(-4); BELL (52-192): Jonathan Polly 31-134, Ryan Collett 9-26, Austin Caldwell 6-25, Peyton Collett 5-4, D.J. Warwick 1-3

PASSING — LC: Tedford 1-6-0-11; BELL: PCollett 1-3-0-16

RECEIVING — LC: Cox 1-11; BELL: Dylan Cox 1-16

First Downs- LC: 4, BC: 10

Penalties-Yards — LC: 10-69, BELL: 3-20

Fumbles-Lost — LC: 2-1, BELL 2-2

Bell rushed for nearly 200 yards against Central. No passing game sounds like what killed them. That, and turnovers.

Here's an article on the game: The Middlesboro Daily News - Central gets past Bobcats 14 10

Hope Mr. Gibbs can return next week. Go Yellow Jackets!

2012 State Champs, again, Lou. Central. Impressive win without Gibbs to say the least. Scary is what that is.

4 hr trip. @ Log Mountain. - starting QB and still win.

Size up their new rings.

I must admit that I thought the Jackets would not win on that mountain. Impressive victory.
