According to you, SK is outstanding. Why do you classify it as an upset? If your team is good, then it's not an upset.

If I wasn't going to the Trinity - St. X game, I'd love to see PRP-Butler.

 

Ballard v. Eastern and PRP v. Butler appear to be the best "matchups" if that means the most competitive and evenly matched teams.

 

Wouldn't it be cool to have a triple-header at Papa Johns on Saturday? One game around lunch, one in the afternoon, and one at night.

I don't buy it. They play on a football field. All of which are 120 yards long and about 55 yards across. The city make up plays no roll in how the game goes. Might want to consider that the distance from Louisville to Paintsville is roughly 4 hours, that's a long bus ride to turn around and play a football game.

There is a psychological factor that you aren't getting. To many inner city kids, all African American, the mountains are a backwards place full of people wanting to lynch them. I have no doubt that isn't the case, but to many of these kids this will be their first experience with mountain folk and the perception they have is not the best. Anyone who saw the game film in 2007 could see a team that didn't even want to be there, they wanted to get out of there as soon as they stepped off the bus.

I sure hope you are right I would love to see the Bobcats fight another week. I have looked at their schedule and have only had one long road trip this season and that was to Henry Co. I think the score at the half was 7-0.

Whether it's a "great matchup" or not; the one playoff game I want to get to one of these days is Trinity/St. Xavier. Not even close for me.

Voted for Breathitt/Belfry...This could be the game of the night, I think Breathitt is very under rated and as always I think Belfry is superb.

 

Would also love to see Central/Bell...there seems to be a chink in Centrals 3A armor this year can Bell crack it open and beat them?

 

Boyle/Lex Cath...IMO will be closer than most think and I would not be surprised at the upset.

 

Cov Cath/Highlands...Biggest question is can Cov. Cath get some stops and allow offense to dictate tempo? Highlands has to lose one of these years, could this be the year...probably not, but should be a good game.

 

Williamsburg/Hazard...Big step up in class for Williamsburg...this might be one of the most entertaining games of the night

 

Cooper/Franklin...first one to punt loses

 

Bowling Green/Warren Central...WC WILL NOT just lay down for the Purples...I expect a war in this game

Louisville to Henry County isn't a very far trip, either. The long trip to Bell County could be a challenge. Far be it for me to criticize Central's scheduling because they take on all the 6A powers in Jefferson County, but it might benefit them to play one "out in the state" game each season. Road trips to Boyle County, or Ashland, or Bowling Green could help prepare them for these playoff atmospheres.

 

But with that being said, they have handled everyone, home and road, over the last few years so why change? And by playing long road games in the regular season the fans would lose out, which isn't a problem now since they mostly just play around Jefferson County.

I agree! That is what prompted me to start the thread. I was looking at all the great matchups wishing I could attend all these games. There are a few other games that could become interesting with the slight possibility of going down to the wire and even an upset. The weather looks to be pretty good around the state. If you aren't at a game tonight, then you just don't like high school football.

I would be thrilled if Lville Central and Warren Central could set up a series. Always enjoyed going to the basketball games when those two played.
