What games will folks be at this week?

Judging from an early glance of all of the 12th Region team's schedules it is safe to say that the top teams in the 12th Region run from no one. Lots of tough matchups for all of the top 10 teams before district play starts in January.

SW and Pulaski the favorites with W. Jessamine and Somerset not far behind.

I've heard some good things about Garrard County in the preseason. They scrimmaged Henry County and Nelson County and "won" both, although I believe scores were erased after each quarter. They have four returning players who have played extensive minutes in Abney, Sebastian, C. Ray, and J. Ray, as well as several young players that will be called upon to contribute. Mix in the excitement of a new coaching staff and it could be a fun year in Lancaster. I'm not sure if they are ready to challenge the region's elite, but I think they should be very competitive within the district.

I think they are 'on the cusp' and by season's end they could be the team no one wants to face. I'm looking forward to seeing how they adjust to the new coach. The talent is there. Pretty wild for me to think that last year in postseason play our toughest won game was against Garrard and had we lost that game our season was over yet we made the region final game. I think Garrard will be better than some people think. If not for a new coach I may have ranked you guys higher.

Probably. There could be a few factors in the Garrard loss (long road trip, decent opponent, new coach), but the biggest thing with Garrard right now is limited depth. Much like the football team, they will rely on some young kids to contribute off the bench and those kids may not be ready for that right now.
