You are wrong again. Gutsy would have been taking the shot. Clutch would have been making the shot. Very different. How many game winners has Proffitt made I wonder?? And if not, was it because his teammates scored so many points that he didn't have to or because he passed the ball to an open teammate for them to take the other shot. Quite frankly, I don't think Proffitt is guarded nearly as hard as Miller simply because he doesn't pose as much a scoring threat as his teammates.

 

I guess you can look at it bothe ways, but the Sportscenter broadcasters must disagree with you because they were saying that if Lebron was a clutch player then he would have taken the shot...... regardless of whether it was smart or he made it. MJ missed more game winning shots then he made..... does that mean he isnt a clutch player. I dont think so. MJ wasnt clutch because he made the game winning shot every time.... MJ was clutch because he wanted the ball in situations where the game was on the line and was willing to take it, hit or miss.

 

I dont think Proffitt is guarded nearly as hard as Miller because he has 6 other teammates who are very capable of scoring, not neccessarily more capable! Which is exactly why if Miller played for SL he wouldnt put up such big numbers..... because he wouldnt be shooting over 1/2 of his teams shots! Its just like a RB on a football team.... if he is the best RB and the only real run threat then he is going to get 30 touches a game...... however if there are 2 other great RB's on his team then he will probably only get a 1/3 of those touches.

That is the definition of a gutsy player. HaHa. So you are telling me that if I still played high school basketball, if I took every last second shot I could and didn't make any, I would still be clutch. Because as you said, it isn't whether I made the shots or not??

 

If so, then you use the term clutch more loosely than any person I've met. :thumb:
