I do believe they had him wait until after the election. Would it have made a huge difference? I doubt it very seriously. There are reports out that Eric Cantor knew about the affair last month.

November 12, 201213 yr I find this very disturbing. The potential for compromised national security is enormous. Of all people, Petraeus should know well the magnitude of comprise he was exposing our country to by engaging in an affair. I believe this act rises to the level of a criminal act and should be prosecuted as such.

Also agree about the general, he is right up there with Olly North as an amazing military mind. Give a few decades they both will rank up there in history with the great military minds we ever had in the US. But, he broke the most basic rule of intelligence.

Ok, a few months ago she was speaking somewhere and mentioned something like "Not many people know this but we are holding some people hostage in Libya". NOW, thinking SERIOUSLY, doesn't that sound like she "may" have known something? Reguardless if what she siad was true or not. It at least raises a huge red flag, what did she know? She had access to his email account, and account that from all that is going on, had sensitive information sent to it.
