Solid win...Lakers weren't getting a lot of respect from the other side of I-75 before this game. Not saying they were disrepected just that everyone over there was sure that Knox would roll in this one.

First, I want to apologize for the update thread. AT&T has not yet seen fit to bless this area with 3G or 4G and I thought I would at least be able to post scores using EDGE but I couldn't even open the website.

 

Russell County is as good as advertised. We hear a lot about Britt and he is a fine player, but I really liked their qb and linebackers. Also, they have an excellent coaching staff. This was a game of breaks and Russell Co., thru what they had been taught, created their own. The Knox Central ground attack was as solid as usual tonight with both Canady and Gist rushing for over 100 yrds. each. However 3 KC fumbles completely changed the complection of this game. None were incidental, all were forced by the RC defense. Helmet to ball. Sound fundementals. And Russell Co. was good enough to take advantage of all three.

 

For KC, well done guys. It's tough to lose, especially on Senior Night, but there were some valuable lessons to be learned here tonight that will help get you deeper into the playoffs.

 

For Russell Co., congratulations. You earned it.

I think this win stamped Russell Co as a legit contender in 4a.. I'd say top 3-4 in all of 4A, at the very least.

Not really.. Highlands is the only team that I'd clearly rank ahead of them.. I think Boyle, Ashland, JCentral are all a notch below Russell and probably Lex Cath, as well, without there QB..

You probably haven't seen Cov Cath play. I would say they are a clear #2. I haven't seen Ashland, JC or LC, so I can't really say where they rank compared to those teams. Should be interesting to see how it plays out over the next few weeks.
