First time seeing either frosh team.

 

Stringer is obviously at a different level right now.

 

I really liked BW's QB.

 

I liked #2 and #24 for the Colonels. Nice sized linemen.

I told Guru I wouldn't post another scoring summary at the Frosh level with the other teams names, as I have been the only one to do it week after week and if I don't post the names idiots like you get upset but then I never see guys like you doing anything but complain.

 

So why haven't you posted a scoring summary for Beechwood each week?

Unfortunately, I have not seen all the games and I did not get to the game tonight, but I can tell you that there is a lot of Talent. I'm a bit hesitant to say, but I definitely believe these kids are better all around in the skilled positions. Maybe not as much talent on the line.

 

Feiger, Bankemper, Slusher, Combs and Stringer are all very talented but they also have some "Good" talent supporting them.

 

Also, while Stringer is certainly a talent, I believe this team is in the exact same position without him on the field.

Thank you to TOG for filing the game report. I will fill in some color here.

 

Both teams went 3 and out on their 1st possession before Beechwood put together their first scoring drive. On that drive, Beechwood converted a 4th and 9 from the 19 on a run by QB Kyle Fieger, with Stringer scoring on the next play. BW 7-0.

 

In the 2nd quarter, CCH finally got a first down with 6:48 to go. They drove to the 38, then had 2nd and 2 at the 30. They tried 3 times to run for the first down and Beechwood's interior defense stuffed them to take over on downs. BW up 21-0 at half.

 

CCH put together a very nice drive opening the second half to get their one TD on a 4th and goal pass play. Beechwood came back with a long drive of their own and also converted a 4th down along the way to go back up by 3 TD's at 28-7 entering the 4th quarter.

 

Beechwood never punted in the game and they passed very little. They pretty much ran the ball right over top of the Colonels. They had to work for everything they got but they clearly controlled the game from start to finish. It was a very clean, well played game with only one turnover, an interception by Cameron Way on a 4th down play that occurred late in the game when it appeared the QB and receiver had a mix up on a route.

 

The N. Ky. freshman championship will take place at Beechwood next Wednesday with a 6:00 kickoff. Beechwood will be taking on the Ryle Raiders.

Congratulations to the Tigers on an undefeated season. That is an impressive two year run for the freshman Tigers. Their only loss last year was to Moeller. Good luck on finishing an undefeated two year run versus N. Ky. freshman teams next week versus Ryle.

I believe the ability to pass the ball with Fieger at QB and Slusher and Combs at receiver give this team an advantage over the team 4 years ago. Although they passed very little tonight versus CCH, this Beechwood team has a very skilled passing game for a freshman team.

 

I agree with OSD that the line play of the team 4 years ago was a little stronger than this team.

 

As a freshman team, I give this year's team the slight nod. As an overall group of freshmen, I give the team 4 years ago the nod because that was a very large group players with a lot of depth. They had very good players at all positions. I don't think you will see all seniors starting when this group reaches their senior year like you did last year.
