I would tell CCH fans there's enough talent in this class to help 2 or 3 years down the road at the V level. My guess is Dressman will get moved to another position to take advantage of his athletic ability and future size (like his older bro). Some linemen will continue to develop. Enough of the skill position players will continue to add size and speed. I'd look for Pitzer to get some size to him and contribute.

 

This bunch with a strong soph class bodes well for CCH. Add in what I hear is a really good QB coming in next year and it will be a strong group.

I will tell that for me it comes from what I hear and what I read on here. I get tired of everyone saying that Beechwood Recruits and would be nothing without Transfers. Its simply not true. Perhaps I'm a bit defensive and I certainly don't take anything away from him. I know it sounds like I'm bashing him, but not sure how I can try to make my point without it sounding like that. For that, I apologize to Ethan. I'm just not that articulate.

 

I think ImHisDad did a good job of stating how the team is made up and how it works. You can call him the "Star running back" and maybe he is. My point is that if he wasn't there, another "star" or a combination of them would emerge.

 

I see no harm in saying that Stringer is a difference-maker. He is.

Agree. By new QB, are you referencing a xfer or the big kid from 8th grade? That kid is a stud, and a qb transferring in would have to be very confident in his abilities. Love Dressman and if it means he has to change positions to get to the defensive side of the football, then do it. Have watched him for a long time, he is a special talent at lb. Sometimes coaches get too enamored with the platoon concept. That works at Trinity, not always elsewhere. 2 was a really good player, on both sides of the ball, but was extremely under utilized.

He will also get a chance to play varsity basketball as a frosh. Heck, he'd be getting V time as an 8th grader.

Thx. Yes, Cole VH (dont want to butcher the spelling) is really talented. Might even be better on the hardwood. How do the new hoops coach and football coach get along? Are kids encouraged to play multiple sports? I heard one of the big issues with the prior hoops coach was his discouragement of kids to play football.

I understand that he is equal to- if not more talented- on the hardwood myself.

I know that Coach Wirth encourages boys to be multi sport athletes. I've heard that Ruthsatz (sp?) feels less so. I hate when coaches guilt a young man into making a choice. I guess it's always going to be a tug-o-war between those two sports in particular wherever you go.

I always tell a young man playing two sports that I love the fact that he is playing another sport- it's healthy. I also just want him to understand that if I've got two guys competing for PT, as a coach, I have to go with the fellow who has been there all week. Doesn't mean I thnk less of him or his abilities- but I have to reward the one who has been there non stop. I think kids & parents understand that.

It seemed like last night Cov Cath put an a whole lot into stopping the passing game of Fieger and Slusher. I think this opened up the run game and allowed Stringer to have great game he had last night. My congrats to the Tigers O line they did a great job.

I may agree that BW is still undefeated without Ethan, but he is the one that takes it to another level. Teams are geared to stop him, but his ability to get the edge is phenomenal, and opens up the passing game for the rest of them. By the same token, Ethan is not as good without the talent of Kyle Fieger, Slusher, Combs, and that offensive line. Just a really good team.

So you're saying that in "passing situations" CCH set up their defense to stop the passing game?

With Beechwoods QB every down is a passing situation.
