Highland Heights man shot and killed by his girlfriend

That's a shame because she is the devil in disguise.

Interesting to see your stark contrast of positions between this and the Bosley case....Both women claimed domestic abuse.

What contrast? Bosley is a crazy murderer as well! Neither could ever prove any claims of domestic abuse.

They have to fill out a questionnaire and he marked no on felony. The felony charge came from a problem with childcare payments that were late and he did not know it was a felony. I think that is what was on the 6 o'clock news.

I think it would be a terrible miscarriage of justice to throw out the verdict. It sounds like the guy honestly didn't know it was a felony. He didn't intentionally lie so it could not have affected the outcome of the trial.

So the dude is a felon and has no clue? Does he vote, own a gun? What other rights are given up as a felon?

I don't believe this guy for a second didn't know that he wasn't a convicted felon. Completely implausible...

Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong lady then....The lady that was just released from prison in the past year or so. I thought it was Bosley, could be wrong.

Sorry, just looked it up. I was speaking of the Cheryl McCafferty case.

Why not? I read yesterday that he has been able to buy guns since his conviction although I can't find the link now. The guy has a 6th grade education and can barely read and write. His understanding was that he never went to jail and felons go to jail. It's entirely possible, because of his lack of education, that he didn't understand the procedures.

Yeah, that is different. Her domestic abuse was the best well kept secret in Ft. Thomas. I believed her and still do.

So basically you know her, so you believe her. In this case, you don't know her, so she's the devil?

I don't know either woman personally. Just entirely different stories. Besides, I'm still not so sure that Cheryl is the one who pulled the trigger.

I agree, completely different stories, and I'm with you on the McCafferty one.

I guess my whole point is, in these cases where domestic abuse is claimed, it's hard to believe one side over the other.

Especially when one side is dead. I agree. Sometimes you just have to go with your instincts and my spidey senses are off the charts with this chick.

One of the defense attorneys in this case also represented the juror on the child support issue. She said she did not realize that he had been her client until after the trial was over. Riiiiiiiggggghhhhttttt.

I think Deanna Dennison the attorney is trying to put one over on everybody

If that is the case I see a disbarment review coming.

I'm pretty sure she was not her attorney during this trial. She is handling the appeal. I do not know if she has any connection with the previous attorneys.

I will double check that. From the stories I have read it seemed to me that she was one of the defense attorneys but I make mistakes.

Don't we all! :isurrender:

David Mejia was one of her attorneys from the trial. Not sure if he had help.

The process for a felony conviction is pretty straightforward and the amount of court time and interaction with this guy extensive....

Entirely plausible that he could purchase a gun as a convicted felon. That check system isn't that great.

It is possible he didn't understand the procedures, but not plausible he didn't know he was a convicted felon
