AverageJoesGym Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Final from Somerset. Freshman Castle Hatcher comes in and leads Somerset to a comeback victory. The Eagles led 12-3 late in the game before electing to take a safety. Hatcher finds Will Lange for a touchdown with 2:02 to go and the Somerset defense stops the Eagles to nail down the win. The Briar Jumpers are now 6-2, 2-0 in the district while the Eagles drop to 5-3 1-1 in the district.
drill sergeant Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Will Hinton was on the sidelines in his wheelchair for the Briar Jumpers. He was in the accident just 8 days ago and was released from the hospital today. I am sure he provided some extra motivation to the Jumpers. Also, on a great note, the LCA parents, athletes and fans took up a collection and presented it to the Hinton family at half time. What an awesome display of a family, even when we cheer for different teams.

Jumper_Dad Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 They weren't, they were up 9-3 when they chose to take the Safety making it 9-5

Jumper_Dad Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 I sat right in front of the LCA coaches that were up top. Very nice to hear coaches "Coaching" and not cussing and complaining all night. I sit within 20 feet of most opposing teams coaches and it was nice change from what normally goes on up there behind me. These guys were all over the game plan especially D Coord, he was making great calls all night.
ThinThirty1981 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 How did LCA score their points? Field Goals?
Jumper_Dad Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 TD (blocked XP) and field goal...FG was first
SHS Future Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Freshman Castle Hatcher was the spark that Somerset needed tonight. He was cool under pressure and made great decisions. This could be the move that changes the destiny of this team. A defensively strong team may have just added an offensive threat. On a side note, I was very impressed with the fans of LCA. What a class act!

That was a very classy gesture.
AverageJoesGym Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 With the Danville win over Middlesboro this game clinched the district championship and number one seed for the Briar Jumpers. Congratulations guys.
gchs_uk9 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 With the Danville win over Middlesboro this game clinched the district championship and number one seed for the Briar Jumpers. Congratulations guys. And makes next week's Danville/LCA game a big one for home field advantage in the first round, although I'd wager either team would be a favorite on the road at Leslie County.
