I feel sorry for the families of these men who will have to watch their fathers go off to prison because of their own greed.

Seems like I've been hearing about this for 3 years, I was wondering if they were ever going to come down.
October 12, 201214 yr Copper theft is beyond ridiculous these days. All metal theft is, really...but copper is particularly worse. The fact that we have to budget an extra 5% for copper pipe and copper wire into construction estimates to anticipate theft is plain sad.
October 12, 201214 yr Author The amount of copper these guys stole is also beyond ridiculous. Sad that it took Duke so long to figure it out.

October 12, 201214 yr Wow, I thought with this title that PP92 was gonna be on a rampage. Everybody wanted to know where Lance Thomas got the 30 grand from....
October 12, 201214 yr Give me an idea of how much they stole... The figure I heard thrown around a year or so ago was 9 million but I have no idea if that is accurate.
October 12, 201214 yr Author Give me an idea of how much they stole... Enough to build the pole barn they used to strip the wire. Enough for one of the guys to take his entire extended family on an all expenses paid vacation. Enough that one guy invested a bag full of cash into a local business to hide it from the feds. Enough to have nice cars and houses that would make anyone wonder where they got all this money working blue collar jobs at Duke. We're talking millions.

And it's hard to believe the oversight on Duke's part. I'm sure Duke has been/will be taking a hard look at their procedures for monitoring copper.
October 12, 201214 yr One of the guys was a manager. LOL Not when it started and only at the very, very end. Also, he only managed crews, first line supervision.
October 12, 201214 yr Seems like I've been hearing about this for 3 years, I was wondering if they were ever going to come down. Same, I thought they were going to get away with it somehow.
