Respect has to be earned.

If Dist. 7 has not earned respect by now they never will. Danville has won many State championships and Somerset has had many State Runner-up spots, not to mention Lex. Christian has won a State Championship. I guess you are saying we need to Beat them this year. Hope that happens.

As I said about Dixie.... They're just as good as anyone in NKY 6A. And cellking, when they prove that they can 2005+ on is when I will. The state title has remained in NKY the past 2 years for 2A. Wouldn't be shocked if it's 3.

I agree Dist. 7 will have a lot to say about who is in Bowling Green. We get no respect from Northern Ky.:taz:

Nobody said anything like that, you are looking for a slight that isn't there. As a NewCath fan, there are few programs more respected by us than Danville seeing as they have our number. Somerset is always good, if not state champ caliber. All that guy was saying is that NewCath has the talent to make it to BG, not that Dist. 7 is garbage, so they will get there by default.

I agree with mexitucky anyone counting NewCath out better open their eye's. This is a very good 2A school and the losses are against bigger size schools. Don't let their record fool you, they have a tough team. JD

My point is with 3 of the top 8 teams ranked in 2A, the district 7 winner will be battle tested. It may be more difficult for LCA or Danville to win on the road at NCC, but it can be done. There is little to no chance that NCC wins at Somerset this season. But like you, I can see any of these four being there at the end.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think NCC wil travel to play in the semi state whether Somerset, Danville, LCA or Prestonsburg wins the region. So, would this mean NCC will struggle on the road vs. the other foes or just have a difficult time at Somerset?

I believe you are correct. I forgot that the semi-state was alternating between even and odd regions. I had assumed that the higher seed would host all games and the even/odd determination would be in the case of a 3-0 NCC playing a 3-0 SHS.

I think the NewCath/Beechwood season finale outcome will speak volumes about how far the Breds can go.

Yep, if they lose it increases their chance of winning the title, based on past history.

NCC is always a dangerous team. They have been to the state finals 5 of the last 7 years and 3 were state champs. Anyone that plays them come playoff time better bring their A game because NCC know the road to Bowling Green well.

This is a bit off the topic, but I came through Somerset this week and found the school, but didn't see a football stadium around the school. Where is their stadium located?

Somerset High School is "In" town on College St. The football field is at Meece Middle School, it is on the left as you come into town from the east (I-75) on Hwy 80.

There are two other high schools in town, Pulaski Co. is just north of town with their stadium back behind the school and Southwestern is off of the 914 bypass on the west side of town and their field is also behind the school.
