I'm picking Leslie to win by 8, but I want to add that I was very impressed with Harlan last night. It's sad that they have lost their best player, Smith, for the season. They're good right now as it is, but they would probably be the 2nd best team in the mountains, behind South Laurel, with their star guard playing.

If the WYMT is weak then the mountains in general are weak? Harlan and North were 2nd or 3rd in most of the preseason polls in the 13th. Now Leslie is one of the best in the 14th if I am not mistaken & isn't Paintsville a regional contender. Now I did not see the semifinals and don't know if Phelps is any good at all. But the defensive effort the kids from Harlan gave aginst Slone and the Tigers was extraordinary. They deserve some credit and Coach Lester as well for developing and executing a game plan to hold Pville to 37 points. Who else has been able to do that? Slone had how many?

I believe that I am going take Harlan by 3 in OT.

I think that nobody will believe in them except them and the coaches. Leslie stays in foul trouble and Harlan wins the WYMT something that escaped them in the mid 90's.

Nice comment :creepy: Harlan has overcome plenty of adversity to get to this point. If the station always put all the heavy hitters in every year, it would be the regional finals all over again. Hats off to them for giving other teams a chance. Before the injury bug hit, they were 13th Region contenders. Just be nice, can't ya????????

Well, Clay did beat them at Harlan with Smith. "just an off-night" sounds like one of Tubby's excuses. Clay just come in there and beat them, those things happen to.

Robbie Curtis from harlan went out in the first minute of the game due to a cut over his eye. If this wouldn't have happend Harlan would't have got outrebounded as bad and the game would have been different. Plus Smith went out with 7 seconds left in the game. You never know what he could have made happen.

I forgot to mention that smith finished the game with 27 points.

I suppose you guys are right, the Clay County Tigers deserve absolutely no credit for the win at Harlan. If the 6' 7" :confused: pivot dont get hurt and Smith gets to play 7 more seconds The Dragons probably win by 10 or more. Clay was just lucky to get out of there with a win.

I agree that outside of the Cardinals, noone else has stepped up as a true contender just yet. There are some very good teams, but no great teams. But, as they just entering district play, you never know who may step up. Should be an interesting finish to the season in the mountains.

The 13th Region schools already have a hard time getting a crowd to show out. It would be even worse if it was moved there. Plus, I doubt it would be economically feasible to rent the place, given the crowds I've seen in the past. It's good where it is.

Why? Knott Co. Central ran an extremely successful tournament. Everyone I talked to was very pleased with the management of the MT. Classic this year. Were you at any of the games My Adidas?
