October 3, 201214 yr A video of a June 2007 speech by then-Sen. Barack Obama, in which he criticizes the federal government’s response to Hurricane Katrina and the media limited their reporting to the prepared remarks... http://video.insider.foxnews.com/v/1874343574001/ BTW, why do Democrats pander to black audiences with a change in their dialect?
October 3, 201214 yr This has been out there for everyone to see for 5 years. The McCain campaign didn't feel the need to use it. Maybe they thought to do so would be tantamount to playing the race card. However, Drudge (and by extension, Hannity; who seems to feel that this is the October surprise that will torpedo the Obama campaign) saw fit to dredge it up. Telling.

I don't know, why did Romney pander to a Hispanic audience in brown face?

If that were true and they played the actual tape, the 2008 Democratic primary may have very well have had a different outcome. Again, the media limited their reporting to the prepared remarks. I don't give a hoot about Hannity.

We've even had threads on here discussing Obama's code-switching when talking to black audiences. Yawn. It's neither a bombshell nor controversial.
October 3, 201214 yr Author I don't know, why did Romney pander to a Hispanic audience in brown face?Because sooooo many Democrats have gotten such good play by changing the dialect? :idunno:
October 3, 201214 yr Author We've even had threads on here discussing Obama's code-switching when talking to black audiences. Yawn. It's neither a bombshell nor controversial.I never claimed it was a bombshell or even controversial. I do find in interesting that the media decided to stick to the prepared remarks. From what I've seen and heard, they covered his scripted words rather than his actual words.
October 3, 201214 yr Intersting read regarding the President and his feelings toward suburbia. LINK:Burn Down the Suburbs? - Stanley Kurtz - National Review Online
October 3, 201214 yr Since I watched the Romney video I guess I'll watch this one when I have the time. Isn't the entire video rather long?
October 3, 201214 yr I change my dialect amongst my black friends and white friends sometimes. That's bad?
October 3, 201214 yr I change my dialect amongst my black friends and white friends sometimes. That's bad? Not bad at all, IMO. I talk more proper when in front of certain people and regualr when around my friends.
October 3, 201214 yr Not bad at all, IMO. I talk more proper when in front of certain people and regualr when around my friends. I didn't take it as talking proper. Obama talked proper in the video. I took it as Obama saying things to black people that they want to hear but not necessarily things he would say to a national audience. I think this is more pandering than dialect.
October 3, 201214 yr This isn't the full video. It was clips and then Tucker Carlson and the other dude started expressing their opinions about it. I didn't see anything wrong with the edited clips of the video that they showed. Much ado about nothing if you ask me. The words he said was already a well known opinion that blacks had about Hurricane Katrina anyways. This was Obama caring about the 47% on video. Big damn deal.
