Bowling Green 62 Logan County 0

Featured Replies

Purples doing work.

Junior QB Devin Hayes set a new BGHS record with five TD passes. Junior WR Nacarius Fant tied the school record with three TD receptions, and freshman K Hunter Hanks tied the school record for PATs in one game with eight. The game went running clock with just under six minutes left in the first half.

After the open date for fall break next week, the Purples get together with cross town rival Warren Central for the Backyard Brawl. Should be a super game between two excellent programs!:thumb:

I'll keep saying it... There's a bigger gap between #1 and #2 in 5A than any other class.

You can keep saying it - won't make it true. And I say that as someone that is continually impressed with Bowling Green.

The primary reason it isn't true is because Trinity proved again last night just how untouchable they are. Both John Hardin and Warren Central are closer to Bowling Green than X is to Trinity.

We will find out the 'gap', if there is one, in 2 weeks. I don't know if there is or not, but DF you didn't think there was a gap last year even after the first game. You only became convinced after the second game. BG beats St X and then X gets hammered by Trinity and people convince themselves X isn't any good, therefore BG isn't that good. WC is better this year as they return most of their team from last year. It is well noted BG only returned 4 starters. I do like the 2 week build up for this game. Should be a good one.

If it weren't for the fact that first game was 6-0 headed into the 4th quarter, I would likely have conceded more of a gap. WC even gave them a good half in the second game, but the Purples finished games last year like monsters. In my heart of hearts I believe that WC wasn't quite as far as 33 points away from BG last year, but it was realistically no closer than the 3 TDs that first game finished with. Those Purples were just waaaaay too deep and on a mission after the disappointment of 2010.

You remember how hard it used to be for me to respect Grayson County those years they gave the Dragons fits. Sometimes I have to be hit over the head repeatedly before I will concede something negative about Central. :D If BG dominates Central in two weeks, then I won't rebuke comments that 5A has the largest gap.

BG is on a spooky run right now. It happens in football where a team, a group of players, or a program as a whole gets zoned in, and it's heck to pay for all challengers. Beechwood in the mid 90's, the Pats with Brady and company there for awhile, the "U" back in the early 2000's and FSU in the 90's, Bama and Trinity right now...it happens. If BG handles Central this first meeting, it may just spell doom for the rest of 5A. 5A as a whole needs Central to at least scare BG out of their zone.

62-0? That is one daaarrrrkkkk shade of Purple! Way to go BG!

I couldn't agree more. Except for 6A. And maybe 4A. And maybe 3A. Not sure about 1A & 2A.
