Was it that bad?

Who wss at QB tonight for Brossart?

Was it that bad?

Breds are still trying to find themselves still, Defense looked much better, but the offense.....:ohbrother:

A win is a win, is a win, ugly or not. Great win for the Juggs!

Great win for the Juggs. The only thing I saw ugly for the Juggs was a lot of dropped balls. QB was making some nice throws going thru Juggs receivers hands. Other than that, Brossart had nice gameplan overall playing first game without Elbert. Inside the redzone two or three times and came away empty. If Elbert plays that game - it's definitely tighter..Congrats to Juggs and nice job Stangs rebounding after last week and all of the recent issues. Good luck to both

The Brossart Football Mustangs welcomed Junior quarterback Casey Pelgen back to the lineup, and responded by playing head up for the first 14 minutes with the now 6-1 Lloyd Juggernauts. Costly penalties and a pair of big plays aided the Juggernauts in posting the 28-0 win.

The Mustangs actually threatened first, driving the football deep into Juggernaut territory to the 8 yard line, before the drive stalled out, turning the football over to Lloyd on downs.

Sean Tieman was the Mustangs' primary ground threat, carrying the football 8 times for 44 yards in the first half, while Pelgen picked up where he left off at Dayton, unleashing an ariel assualt that saw him complete 6 passes on 12 attempts in that same period of time. I will update to game stats when they become available.

Three Juggernaut TDs in the second quarter sealed the Mustangs doom on this night. A 20 yard run by Kyle Grant and a 2-point conversion made it 8-0 at the 10:49 mark. The first major missed defensive opportunity came at the 7:57 mark, when the Juggs needed 15 yards for a first-down, only to score on a 48 yard pass play from Dexter Smith to Brian Warren. The 2-point PAT attempt was no good. Lloyd scored again at the 2:38 mark on a 6 yard run by Jared Gabbard, aided by a 15 yard personal foul flag against the Mustangs. The half ended with the Juggs on top 21-0. Brossart tried to mount a patented late first-half rally, but came up short turning the ball over to Lloyd on downs.

The final score of the night came with 4:18 to play in the 3rd quarter, when again the Mustangs had the Juggs pinned, needing a huge gain for a first-down, only to see them complete a 56 yard pass play from Smith to Tomi Mejolagbe for a score. The PAT was good for a final score of 28-0.

Brossart heads to Newport Stadium next Friday night where we will play the homestanding Wildcats, 42-13 losers to Holy Cross, for our best opportunity for a 2-A playoff spot. Game time is 7pm and the live broadcast will take place starting at 6:45pm.

Is #53 Freshman Paul Williams starting?

Congrations to Lloyd even if it was an ugly win. I think that the Lloyd/New Cath game is going to be interesting.

Dropped balls, balls overthrown, I think 2 or three turnovers and I lost count of the penalties. I understand a win is a win, but you cant make a playoff run with this type of play. Brossart had a good game plan with the qb having all day to throw. I love the Juggs more than anyone. I'm just stating the facts. Next week will be interesting.

Congrats to the JUGG'S and a great start at 6 and 1 now go finish business this week against NewCath and then Newport. JD
