August 23, 201214 yr Based on my follow up post this is the most impressive scam email I have ever received. I've received similar scam emails, but they usually come from an email address that's completely foreign to me and they usually start off by saying, "I got your email from our friend [insert generic first name]". The fact that they're sending them from a compromised email address and sending it to people in that email address' list of contacts is definitely impressive.
August 23, 201214 yr It happens unfortunately that some emails just get hacked or get a virus and someone has access to them to spam others with emails. I had a yahoo account (with no important information thank you) that was hacked and was being accessed from many countries including Sweden, Spain, Portugal, and Indonesia. Yahoo sent me a response saying that it had seen suspciious activity and asked me if I wanted to change my password, etc. etc. It does happen so maybe its a similar situation with that email Guru.
