August 25, 201214 yr I do not agree with what Dusty said at all. I try to stay away from all the Dusty bashing, however what he had to say was very stupid IMO. Who cares if the other players are older like Rolen, and saying since Todd is younger he needs to wait his turn. You never know how many opportunities you will have to make a run for it, so you need to take advantage of it while you can. He is acting like it wouldn't be fair to Rolen if Todd started over him. However it is not fair for Todd and the rest of the players on the team to not play the player who probably gives them a better chance to win.

However I think he probably could in a playoff series, especially if it meant keeping Frazier in the lineup. Obviously if they were going to do that, then they would need to have Bruce do a few starts in Center during September.

August 25, 201214 yr Yeah, lets make our team defense worse during the most important games of the year. That's smart. Anyone is going to be a drop off from Stubbs but I don't think it would be that bad. It would be worth it to get Frazier's bat in the lineup instead of Stubbs.

Cincy will likely be playing on the west coast in the playoffs. Bruce can't cover all the groud those parks have in CF.

That is why I said try it in September some, obviously it might not have worked out anyways when they try it in September. However you did bring up a great point about the big parks on the West Coast. So yeah that would be hard then to do.
