August 14, 201214 yr Bruce should be embarrased that a journeyman(Ludwick) has led this team since Votto went down, he's hands down the most disappointing Red this season, followed by Mesorasco(thought he would blow up this season) I agree somewhat. It's hard for Mesoraco to put anything together only getting 2 out of every 5 starts.
August 15, 201214 yr Nobody has stated that Frazier hasn't hit the ball well. I'm saying it's not a given that when Votto returns that Frazier should be the everyday 3B. If you're looking for a weak link right now, and a place you could play Frazier, it has to be Bruce, and that's not going to happen either, because A) he's a lefty, and B) he can get very hot, and carry a team for a couple of weeks. Do you think Rolen can play (and contribute) the rest of the season & through the playoffs? I don't, and that's why I would send him to the DL when Votto returns.

August 15, 201214 yr Absolutely.Don't give up on the old man yet, every time you guys throw dirt on him he comes back getting clutch hits and playing great field. In the playoffs there's no one I would rather have at the plate in the clutch, followed closely by Votto
August 15, 201214 yr I don't doubt Rolen's talent, but I've seen him 'hit' with a bum shoulder & a sore back far too often. I don't think he can stay healthy for another two and a half months, so I'd pace him.

August 15, 201214 yr The last time the knee felt good enough to return, it lasted one test run around the base path before reinjury. With a quarter of a billion $$ guaranteed on the line it would be unwise to let Votto come back too soon. This is the polar opposite situation of what the Nationals are doing with Strasburg's anticipated shut down. The Reds have a 6 game lead in the NL Central. What is the rush? Let Votto heal. Hope that he can come back healthy in time to shake the rust off before the playoffs. Otherwise, shut him down before he suffers an injury that can't be fixed with arthroscopy.
