...or a crimefighter? They had this debate on Mike and Mike the other day.

None of the above. He is The Caped Crusader.

I instinctively started to say Superhero, but after I actually gave it somethough I would have to go with crimefighter. He doesn't have any super powers, just some really cool gadgets/technologies. His main purpose is to fight crime and it's a direct result of crime having impacted him at an early age via the death of his parents.

I would say he isn't.

Tough call, he can fly which would be a super power, also has super strength. As Iron Man he has the ability to save a bus teetering over a cliff without a problem(super hero style), Batman could try and might be able to come up with a solution but Iron Man can do it with just his Iron Man suit. Batman goes out to fight crime, not to try to rescue people in danger because of an accident or natural disaster.

When did Batman learn to fly?

When did Batman learn to fly?

I was referring to Iron Man, he was mentioned at some point and now has seemingly disappeared.

What is the difference?

Why can't he be both?

Lay off the mushrooms man. Nothing has disappeared.

I lean towards crimefighter. Very much like Daredevil (The Man Without Fear, Jim).

Batman is a crime fighter. Ironman is a superhero.

Ironman>Batman.

Batman movies>Ironman movies and both are highly entertaining.

Depends on how you define superhero. Obviously, Batman is a hero. The super in superhero typically refers to an extraordinary power or ability not possessed by normal human beings. So does Batman possess an extraordinary power or ability? My answer is absolutely YES! His mind is his superpower. Batman is always 10 steps ahead of his opponent, which completely offsets any physical or magical advantage they may possess. There is a reason that Batman and Superman are at the top of the DC Universe. For those who watched the cartoons or read the comics, you can see that Batman is very capable of going toe to toe with the universe's strongest beings. He is much more than a crime fighter with cool gadgets.

I think the recent movies did a great job of showing that, but when given the choice between crime fighter and super hero I have to go with crime fighter.
