No one that protests has a first priority of changing another's heart. Blacks didn't give a damn if you thought they were equal or not. They protested so that the GOVT would give them the right to be equal. Same here with the gays.

 

Is protesting at Chick-Fil-A going to give them that right? Wouldn't spending that time and energy calling the offices of their elected officials be the most logical option?

You left out a key word before "views." That would be "some." I also have "some" different views than my wife of 25 years.

 

I may be wrong, but I would be that your church has a doctrine which they stand behind no matter what percentage of the members believe in it or not.

You ALWAYS take advantage of a high-profile situation WHILE doing the behind-the-scenes work. There is no downside to this UNLESS a few of the protesters cross a line of what is acceptable protest. If it gives people pause , regardless of which way the ultimately lean, it is a positive.

I do believe there are people who are conflicted on the issue. Polls show that. Just look at the change in the level of support for gay marriage over the recent years. Therefore, people are indeed changing their mind on the issue. So, you keep getting in front of those who might be open to re-evaluating. Seems logical.

I think I've already answered that. I support MOST of the beliefs. There is no church I know of that I would be 100% in agreement .
