June 12, 201214 yr Reds fans love one thing more than their Reds - second guessing and/or hating on whoever is the manager of the Reds.
June 12, 201214 yr Dusty gets on my nerves sometimes, particularly (as HT said) when I perceive him to be overly loyal to vets. But we did win a Division championship under his watch, so I tend to cut him more slack than some others might. Last nights game was not all on Dusty. Take a look at the past ball that Devin let get by him. He didn't move his feet at all to keep the ball from getting past him. On top of that he turned his head, like the pitch was going to hit him in the face. The ball would have hit him in the ear, if it would have bounced higher. How can you expect to catch a ball if you don't get in front of it, and you turn your head. I know Devin is a rookie but he is still a pro. That cost the Reds the game. IMO.
June 12, 201214 yr Dusty is a great player's manager. He would be ideal on a veteran team. However, his in game strategy and handling of the pitching staff (and I'm not talking about Prior and Wood) is just poor. He probably costs the Reds 3-5 wins per year with his in game calls. Now, whether his personal style makes up for that with his relaxed clubhouse environment I couldn't say.

June 12, 201214 yr FKW would probably laugh at your theory that teams don't act well to mid season firings. That's a very solid assumption.
June 12, 201214 yr Cincinnati is a pretty pessimistic sports town PP92, and for decent reasons. Fans are always looking for something to complain about.
