June 14, 201214 yr If Frazier keeps up his current pace I wonder if there is any chance he gets in as a write in or managers pick at 3rd Base...He is currently 4th in AVG at .273, 9th in Doubles with 9, 1st in Triples with 3, 5th in HR's with 7, 1st in SLG and 3rd in OPS... Frazier has put up these #'s in only 115 at bats, Hanley has 243 at bats...

He has no chance of being voted in, his only option would be to be named a reserve, but he's not one of the two most deserving NL 3B, and if they do go with 3, I'd be shocked if they don't select Chipper as a tribute for his final season.
June 15, 201214 yr According to CWB's list, Tampa Bay only has 2 players even getting a modicum of votes, BJ Upton, who's the last of the Outfielders and Evan Longoria who's been on the DL since May 1st. It's a good thing the Rays are all about team. BTW, Longoria may be back next week. The broadcasters have been indicating that and the team site backs that up. He's joining the Durham Bulls on the road tomorrow, starting at DH. Maddon says 10 more days, though, so maybe the week of the 24th?
June 15, 201214 yr Old guy tweet to follow: In the 70s when I was a youngster the All-Star game was one of the biggest baseball days of the year. Why? Because I only saw many of the players who played in the game on baseball cards. There wasn't baseball on every night of the season. I wanted to see what Rod Carew's swing looked like. Was Dick Allen's bat really as big as they said? How good was Cesar Cedeno? Fun times for a kid who only read about players on cards and tracked their stats daily from the afternoon newspaper. Today? Not so much.
