I believe it was the senior awards dinner and scholarship banquet.

Does not excuse the lack of foresight to try and change the schedule as the baseball coaches did in this district.

Once the seniors vacated the game, does Bellevue not have enough underclassmen to put nine players on the field? Even if they played JV during the season?

Should Bellevue be responsible for refunding purchased tickets if a person has a ticket to show they were indeed at the game?

Where is the Bellevue AD in all of this? NO team should be "taking votes" and making decisions without prior knowledge of the AD. If this was done with his knowledge that is unacceptable on his part. If it was doen behind his back......well.......I think a change in the program is in order.

Isn't this Maddie Blevins a player? I have only seen her once about 4 years ago but I thought she was really good for her age. Her dad can't find a way around this, crazy!!

 

She is a junior and by far the best player on the team. She throws the ball very hard but has no catcher to handle it.

Something could have been worked out by rescheduling. That is a shame for those girls not getting to play.

I haven't really heard Bellevue's side of the story so I hate to comment, however I can say that I have never been at a meeting or draw where a team that asked for a special consideration that it was not granted. One of the first questions asked at the Region Draw each year is "Do any of you have Graduations or events we need to work around?" In basketball this year we voted unanimously to change the entire format of the Region so it did not conflict with the ACT testing. Like someone said before I'd hope there is more to this story.

You are 100% correct, but NewCath has had to deal with this "nonsense" for the last two seasons. As well as quite a few other teams, Highlands and Campbell Co that I know of, so I have ZERO problem "chiming in".

You hate to see girls work all season to see it end like this.

Was told tonight they moved the start time of the game to 4:30. Also, the Senior Awards Banquet....Dinner started at 5:30 and Awards Presentation started at 7:00, plenty of time for the game.

Really doesn't matter if they asked for the game to be moved to another day. The start time was moved to 4:30 to accommodate them so they had time to get to the awards presentation at 7:00. The coach should be fired and if the AD supported this, he should be fired too. It's apparent, that this coach has put nothing into this season and this illustrates it. I don't even have a dog in this fight and it ****es me off. I feel bad for the girls and sorry they had to put up with this idiot all year.
