July 14, 201214 yr Phipps is one that I was really hoping for big things from this year. I know he's been hurt, but he's had a very disappointing season.
July 14, 201214 yr There have been series this year when the Bats had not scored 5 runs---did it in 3 different innings last night. Every batter (except the P) had scored by the time there was one out in bottom of 2nd. What a strange game---perfect for Friday the 13th. Obviously early, but Gregorius has been pretty smooth both offensively and defensively through first two games. He and Janish have worked really well toghether in the middle. Undecided on Rodriguez, has made some nice plays at third, but given his size, not sure he will ever have the power numbers you would expect out of a 3rd baseman.

The 31-year-old speedster hit .299/.346/.347 in 161 plate appearances for their Triple-A affiliate after signing out of an independent league back in May...The Bats only have 24 Active Players right now and only 3 Active OFers...

Syracuse Chief, Int'l League batting leader Xavier Paul opts for free agency Xavier Paul was the international leagues leading hitter with the Syracus Chiefs...He should be the next call up if the Reds need an Outfielder instead of calling up Harris...I wouldn't be surprised if Harris is the next guy to get released... Beau Mills the First Baseman they traded for from the Indians about a month ago...I guess its possible he is going to the Reds or moving up to AAA and Soto is going to the Reds...Lutz also plays LF though so his move may be nothing more than a worthy promotion he has been tearing up Bakersfield...
