April 25, 201214 yr Jim Day @JimDayTV Dusty on Cozart: Younger guys don't have as much success vs soft throwers. And I play everybody, Valdez hits .300 vs Zito, Stubbs .500 Then by all means put Harris in at 2B for Phillips. Harris has 3 years on Phillips.
April 25, 201214 yr The fat lady is singing. Let's see the Hoover tonight. Would have been a good time to let him make his major league debut to get the butterflies out. Hope Dusty doesn't throw him into a tight spot for his first appearance.
April 25, 201214 yr No surprise Latos had a good game when switching to him. Why is that? He doesn't have anymore experience with Hanigan than with Mesoraco does he?
April 25, 201214 yr Why is that? He doesn't have anymore experience with Hanigan than with Mesoraco does he? Because Hanigan is great at calling games.
April 25, 201214 yr I'd say with Cueto it's not a huge deal but Arroyo showed it does matter when it was Hanigan or Hernandez. His numbers were better with Hanigan. Maybe he just calls a better game or maybe it's just misleading given the guys each are catching and the small sample size. I thought the organization really liked the way Mesoraco called a game. Besides his offense wasn't that one of the things they really liked about him was him handling of pitchers?

April 25, 201214 yr ^ Yeah I don't get that. Why does Cozart need a day off? My sentiments entirely, he's 26 years old and just had an offday Monday. I'd be willing to bet that somewhere in the past Valdez has done something versus Zito. You know Dusty and his numbers. The only other thing I can think is that Cozart is dinged up but I didn't watch the game last night. I hate the way Dusty tinkers with the lineup.

Valdez bats .300 vs Zito that makes perfect sense. He hasn't had an at bat against him since 2007. Come EZ, 2nd post of this page.
April 25, 201214 yr Valdez bats .300 vs Zito that makes perfect sense. He hasn't had an at bat against him since 2007. And he's 3 for 10, that's a real large sample size. Cozart needs to learn the pitchers and never sit against a lefty.
April 25, 201214 yr Come EZ, 2nd post of this page. I don't read the entire thread to see what others have said. I start where I last left off so I didn't see this.
April 25, 201214 yr ^That might be the most ignorant reasoning I've ever heard in my life. That's Dusty being Dusty and he loves his numbers.
April 25, 201214 yr It's not that Meso calls a bad game but he's just young and still learning. If he's going to hit he's going to have to play and I thought Dusty said he was the #1 catcher. Maybe it's the young guys don't handle the crafty lefty veterans like in the Cozart deal.
April 25, 201214 yr That lineup is a classic example of what makes Dusty Baker an idiot. I don't care what happens tonight it's just stupid to move Stubb and not play Cozart. The Reds finally start hitting and Baker has to start switching things up. I'm getting to the point where I can't stand the guy.
